Recently my wife and I went to NYC to celebrate our 25th anniversary (yes, there are old farts running around chasing down you young whippersnappers! :10_wink: ).

It was our first time in NYC and the whole time, while walking around the city I was thinking of The Division's rendering of the city and how that compares to the real city. I was amazed at some of the similarities:

  • The scaffolding that you use for cover in front of so many buildings - they're really there. Maybe not quite as many buildings have them as in the game, but a lot of the buildings in the city do.
  • Those parking areas with the stacked cars? To my suprise those are there, too.
  • Bryant park is there
  • I was wondering if the devs were making some sort of political statement with the "Chelsea" and "Clinton" districts, but yes, there are districts/areas in the real NYC called those
  • The layout of the city and the major buildings are all faithfully recreated in the game: the Flatiron building, Times Square, etc
We had an awesome time. NYC is a great place and we definitely will go back. So a general "Thanks" to all of you NYCers!  :1_grinning:

They did say they did they're best to replicate NYC. From my understanding and yours too, they did a great job

Just remember: when someone asks you for change, give it to them. They may drop an apparel item you haven't collected yet.

Totally agree but ... am I the only person who uses Google Earth to plan routes around the game then?

Its all there, right where it all should be so far! I love this game for this detail. On a side note, the DZ and the new Incursion are Mid Town.

As a Brit I use The Division as a virtual holiday in NYC...there's just less people and traffic.
