Recently my wife and I went to NYC to celebrate our 25th anniversary (yes, there are old farts running around chasing down you young whippersnappers! :10_wink: ).
It was our first time in NYC and the whole time, while walking around the city I was thinking of The Division's rendering of the city and how that compares to the real city. I was amazed at some of the similarities:
It was our first time in NYC and the whole time, while walking around the city I was thinking of The Division's rendering of the city and how that compares to the real city. I was amazed at some of the similarities:
- The scaffolding that you use for cover in front of so many buildings - they're really there. Maybe not quite as many buildings have them as in the game, but a lot of the buildings in the city do.
- Those parking areas with the stacked cars? To my suprise those are there, too.
- Bryant park is there
- I was wondering if the devs were making some sort of political statement with the "Chelsea" and "Clinton" districts, but yes, there are districts/areas in the real NYC called those
- The layout of the city and the major buildings are all faithfully recreated in the game: the Flatiron building, Times Square, etc
