THE DIVISION: ITEM DROPS AND CRAFTING IN UPDATE 1.1

I love the graph, most high end items were crafted. That's because people have to craft 50 of each one to get one that is any good! lol

The changes affect people in different ways I suppose.

Under 30...who really cares, noone really crafts during leveling anyways and hard's are out.

New level 30, Woo! tons of yellows for hards!

At geared level 30, you're getting a ton of yellows and you are deconstructing them all to get mats for the enormous amount you need to craft a good piece of gear. I hate the changes to crafting. One, you NEED the attibute you are using. You can't change it. So for DPS, you need firearms on your new kneepads. and maybe you can work with the stamina, but if it's electronics, you just deconstruct it or maybe hold onto it in case you decide to do a skill build. . you also need the skill you are using as you can only change 1 bonus. You're also going to get EXP after kill or exp for headshot which is USELESS to a level 30. I also don't feel that getting a yellow after every hard mission does it for me. It's just saturated now, Instead of WOW! A high end! it's "Well, another high end, lets see if the stats are any better than the 500 other ones I have gotten. I log in, run the dailies more for the mats than for the Phoenix Credits, maybe a challanging for some extra Phoenix credits but honestly, I have blue prints that I haven't even used because the mats are so high now and there are other things I'd rather get that are good than try something else new that may not be good. Case in point, I got the M44 blue print because I wanted to try it out, crafted 1, horrible rolls for a marksman rifle and how I want to play, all skill based. Junk. I went down to the range to see how it shoots and then deconstructed it for the mats. I'll try again if I get bored, but I could spend those trying to get a better AK (one good, one ok and one bad talent right now) Farming mats normally (Not getting into a random group and running the same way over and over is also a real pain now.

Say I hit a nice spot that has 3 electronics areas. they have 3 boxes, 2 boxes and 3 boxes.

At the first one I get 2 greens, 1 blue and 1 green and a yellow and a green

Second one I get a blue, 2 greens

Third I get 3 greens, 2 blues and another green

I have now in the time to run back and forth have 9 greens 4 blues and a yellow. the blueprint I am using needs 5 yellows.

I am SOL. With the old crafting, I would have 2 yellows and a blue at then end...not horrible, workable. As it is now, I am not even close to making a blueprint.
I do this every day all week and end up with 63 greens, 28 blues 7 yellows. After conversion, around 9 yellows. So after a FULL week of this, I can maybe craft 1 or 2 plans.

If those 2 end up being junk because I can't change certain stats, I have to do this again for a full week. I don't know about you, but that's a high work for little reward system and I'll probably just stop doing it after a while because I don't want to put the time in. So instead like I said, I run the dailies for the mats and log off because running around collecting mats just isn't worth the time. So my choices are DZ which is a nighmare with the hackers cheaters right now so I don't even bother. Or Falcon.
Falcon is horde, not a mission, so there are NO drops anywhere, nothing to deconstruct, nada...zip. you win and get the prize or you fail and get nothing at all. Time well spent?

I ran it 5 times. My first try on hard. got to 15/15 and wiped, group broke. 4/15, 8/15 and 5/15 then finally we get a win. (All of those groups broke after the first wipe)

I got 2 tactician GS holsters, yes 2. both useless to my build but better for my GS and what I had. So then I wonder if that is worth the time sink. a couple hours of failed groups with nothing to show and in the end when we finally get it, It's no good to me either.

Don't get me wrong, I like the game, It's fun, and I play for fun. I really don't care if I'm running around with half my gear in sticky bomb and I use pulse, That my Vector has restored on it. I'll change it when I can even though it gimps my guy a bit. I just see myself spending less and less time until finally I go...well...lets see what else there is out there.

just checking, but you know you can reroll the main stat, right? I've had a ton of crafted items come out with perfect abilities, but the wrong main stat.

Since the update I've extracted over 1000 HE (and some set) items from the DZ and not a single one is with a gear score above 191. I play with over 100% scavenging and primary farm DZ5 and DZ6. This sort of drop rate is abysmal and the DZ remains just source of crafting materials. All my gear above 200 score is from crafting or incursions.

In the DZ, 204 weapons are ultra rare drops, gear set pieces ONLY drop at 191, and scavenging only affects looting division tech from static division tech cases...so yeah, that makes sense.

to be clear, what is this Gear score? can you post a in game pic of the character state region where it is?

Also what is HE?

and is the ultra rare 204's level 31 Yellow/gold and the 191's just level 30 yellows?

gearscore is shown in your character tab (inside your inventory screen), just above Darkzone rank (if you've reached level 30).

HE means "high end", the yellow/gold items.

I guess 204s would be 32s, which would make 182s 31s and 163s 30s. Going by level is weird now with all the differing item scores.

I know this might not be a popular view but I'm hoping that a lot of the drop and crafting changes get rebalanced again next main patch. I feel increasing the drop rate without adding a significant new range of higher quality gear has devalued ALL High End drops and increasing the cost of crafting so significantly has left a lot of low to mid range players struggling.

To me they all need levelling off, HE Drop % needs taking down to 35% chance for starters and if they want to keep crafting cost as high as it is now make Elite and Named drop high end MATERIALS if the dice roll doesn't kick out HE gear.

i feel ya, it seems that stuff is to easy to obtain as of now, i agree with dropping high end Mods and maybe crafting materials instead of a 100% drop rate. I haven't even played a full week and i have somewhat of a full build.

it has made it far to easy and i feel no accomplishment for getting said gear.

my build has 182 GS items and above except for 2 weapons and 2 gear items being 163's.

i have a couple 214's in there. and this is just week 1 for me, since i started late and got the game a full month and a half after release.
