The Division 3 is official

It's been a while since Ubisoft talked about their excitement about the growth of The Division...
"The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivaled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters," said Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO, Ubisoft. "This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players' enduring engagement in The Division's game world, which we are confident they will love."
Recently, The Division as a franchise has reached 40 Million players across the network. To bolster this announcement, Ubisoft took the time to announce that The Division 3 is in development...
A core focus of Gerighty’s is to build a team for Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, which will be led by Massive Entertainment, while making sure Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 remains well supported. Outside of that, his attention will be on a solidification of brand identity.
Ubisoft implies it's early, and has a message for The Division fans...
When asked if there’s anything else Gerighty wants to let players of The Division know about its future, he brought up the talent of the Ubisoft development teams. “There are a huge number of talented developers currently working on the brand, and I think that having more consistency can only make everybody's work sing.”

I can’t believe that they are saying it’s a great success considering that since Division 1, day 1 they had glitches, hiccups & down right problems but hey gaslighting works for every other company so they do the same. Instead of working on 3 why not fix the problems with 1 & 2 and bring global events back to 1 so me and all the other players both new and old players can get the commendations or at the very least allow players who have the credits to purchase them from the special vendors. I'm actually excited for PS5 division 3. We need something for PS5 as PS4 games is old news

Hello, New to the discussion and I agree to fixing things prior to launch, (Star Wars: Outlaws, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, just to name a few that have had probs). At any rate we need to be heard as people/gamers that want the s**t to work plain and simple. Why are we paying what we're paying to play and we're having problems, it's a paradox.

The quality-on-launch point is fair, and it's the part of the announcement that matters most. Sequels built on the same engine tend to inherit the same bugs unless someone deliberately stops to fix them, so I'd rather see a real commitment to stability than another roadmap of content. On bringing old global events back to Division 1, that seems like a modest ask that would cost relatively little and mean a lot to long-time players. I'm cautiously hopeful, but I'll judge it on how the first patch cycle goes.

The point about sequels inheriting the same engine bugs is the one that sticks with me. Omaha here, so I've got no inside line on the studio, but the pattern is familiar across too many launches. Bringing global events back to Division 1 is a small ask that would cost little, and I'd rather see that than another content roadmap. I'll also judge it on the first patch cycle, not the announcement.

The engine-inheritance point is the one I keep coming back to as well. A sequel announcement is easy; showing that the first patch cycle actually clears out long-standing bugs is the harder proof. I'm in the same spot as you on Division 1 global events — cheap goodwill that long-time players would notice, and a clearer signal of intent than a content roadmap. Cautious hope feels right, but I'll be reading patch notes before I read any marketing.
