You got a sort of timer and as long as that timer runs down all your bullets are explosive or incendiary iirc. That is why LMG get the most out of the special ammo timer. They have the most bullets per mag and some may even shoot the whole timer long only special ammo. As soon as the timer runs out the special effect is gone. So I'd say you can't preload a weapon and then switch the moment you need it. Would be cool though if that was possible.Noob question but ... if I preload one of my armaments (say the LMG I have in slot 2) with specialist ammunition, does the game remember? So I'm using my AR initially but hot-swap to my LMG that's already loaded with incendiary for example without having to force a reload mid-firefight?
