The next Incursion, broken circle, will be released later this month. just giving a heads up :) and also i was under the impression this incursion had a "recommended" gear score of 220...it is actually a must to have a gear score of 220 or you cant even attempt the incursion...so i guess we have to get our gear scores up

yep..thats what the article said...but i find it hard to believe since i have yet to see anything with a gear score of 220..the highest i have seen is 214
Those who beat (glitched) FL on challenge mode received 240 gear from my understanding...

Challenge mode incursion (Falcon lost) will reward you with a 240 gear set item upon completion and as a weekly reward. The drop from the apc I believe is a 214 item. It doesn't make sense that they would release the new incursion (Broken Circle) with such a high gear score as only a small percentage of players could actually attempt it upon release. My opinion is that the gear score will be reduced to 200gs as required and 220 recommended

I believe the required gear score is deliberately higher but with the patch will be more opportunities to gain gear of that score. It would be stupid if the ONLY source for such gear would be Challenge mode FL.

I’m hoping for more “open world” content as well to be honest, more story or area expanding into other districts? If they’re going to just keep providing (basically) one instance per update then I see no point in me buying a season pass at all.

My issue is that if that gear score is correct then once again the guys that glitched fl on challange over and over will have the advantage again at getting better gear in the new one.looks like a reward for glitching to me .......

Ubi/Massive was supposed to take action and place bans against these players

Wonder how they're going to differentiate those who beat it legitimately and those who glitched it.
Possibly the amount of gear they have, how many drops they have received in said period of time.

If someone has like 10 pieces from the Challenging Mode (Pre-patch), seems a little fishy

Lol, people beat it legit?

to me, legit means with no advantage over others....meaning that they might have beaten the challenge mode w/o using an exploit, but in order to have the guns+gear to beat it, they exploited many times prior.....people could only beat FL challenge mode w/o glitching AFTER they glitched it enough times to obtain gear to beat it w/o glitching

of course, I don't know everything, but this seems like a logical assumption to myself and the groups I run with

To be honest most people wont have 240 gear the best they can do is 214 or 204 on guns, and then they wont use that set up they will reset after starting it.personally they need a rethink on the whole gear score its a pointless figure that has no real advantage

Simple.

Set the new DLC instance at an impossibly high requirement (220/230) - check

Monitor accounts almost instantly accessing the new instance - check

Ban all of them...because the game is NOT YET BUILT TO ALLOW YOU ACCESS unless you've previously used an exploit or cheated.

...to quote a certain Admiral...

"ITS A TRAP!"

I disagree, lots of people have beat it doing it the hard way....grinding for hours sifting through drops...if they've failed at a mission they gathered what they had and kept trying.

You're assuming the game is "unbeatable" without some form of cheating, which indicates a pretty low assumption of the skill level of the combined player base. Not saying your wrong at all...but if right it speaks volumes about the skill and tactical knowledge and abilities of gamers these days doesn't it?

Yep people are completing it now and have been grinding it out but my point is its not allowing the smaller guys to even try it a group who work together and communicate are worth more than the gear score they currently have as said in the last post its about finding a way and trying new methods.

How many of us died on falcon hard mode before we worked out the waves and a strat to complete it.

With you on that. I disagree with Gear Scores entirely to be honest... does the game stop you entering areas above your open world level? NO! It lets you wander in and get spanked by level 30 enemies if you're level 20.

If they must keep the scores make it a suggested level cap like the in-game levels have and nothing more. The whole mechanic at the moment seems to revolve around giving players an arbitrary "number" to chase and rewarding them with new shiny gear because they have attention spans of insects and get easily distracted like magpies.

*sigh*

Sorry....I've just always been against this mantra from games in the last 10 years that seem to only reward with Faster-Harder-Longer ... you're expected to play 17hrs a day, 7 days a week, utterly destroy the game in a week and move onto the "Next Big AAA release" that grabs your monkey brains attention. Then you get developers who, clearly aim games and DLC and Updates PRECISELY AT THOSE GAMERS, then complain that they're losing players or the game is dying or they're surprised if players hack or find exploits.

..THIS IS THE CULTURE YOU ARE MAKING!

Don't build a game that ONLY rewards players who get to the top fastest ... then complain when players do exactly that by "any means possible".

Are the players wrong? Yes, but as a developer you are at least culpable in breeding the culture of only getting any rewards from getting to the top as fast as possible.

There have been a ton of legit challenge mode incursion completions. I'm among them.

That being said, it'll take a player at least three weekly rewards from it to achieve a 220 gear score, and possibly up to 5-6 if you're determined to not wear mismatched gear, but ok with changing roles.
