1.3 has ruined my build!

My vector has like 40 rounds in it. But yes the mag size is small. Makes up for it in raw damage though. Mine has deadly and vicious so it's pretty powerful. I think my g26 outnumbers it though. If i recall correctly, my g26 has any 190k dps. I think the vector is in the 140 range. But dps is greatly reliant on mag size and of course, other mods which my g26 has the better of my mods on it, but also a 97% capacity mag so the total rounds is like 56 or something. That's pretty heavy for an AR. That's LMG territory. Though i guess if i find a nice m249 ill throw it out and put that mag in the 249 and have almost 200 rounds of nonstop firepower. Can't wait to see what a good m249 with that extendo on it cranks out for dps
Nice, my aug has brutal, deadly and responsive now. its base dmg is at 10.5k it used to be 11.9k. Like you my G36 does more dps, its around 216k while my aug sits ate 190k.  Keep in mind, the G36 will be patched so I'm sure that number will drop. But while it lasts, the g36 is a good pve/pvp gun.

But ... the MP5 is a girls gun! I don't want to use that lol!

..unless they release a Hello Kitty skin for it.
I have a 204 MP5 ST with self-preserved/destructive/ferocious, a larger mag (59 rds) and I carry about 1750 backup rounds (+192% ammo from 4x LS and gear bonuses).

Oh, and it has a hot pink viper skin and it shreds bitches!

WANT!!

Personally got a Bison last night on a tunnel run. 107 round mag capacity with my 102% magazine plus 1538 rounds carried due to LS set as well ... but I also run with 58 round G36C which has the same ammunition extra and as a back-up to my back-up M60E with 158 round magazine and another 1700 rounds being carried.

... I .. erm ... don't run out of ammunition much

I've actually got two of the hot pink viper skins.  The other one is on my 204 classic M60 that has a 184 rd mag and balanced/swift/brutal.  Between the two of them I have 240 loaded rounds and 3500 carried rounds, so I rarely run out of ammo either.

Depending on what I'm working on, I'll swap the LMG or SMG for my 204 LVOA-C that has a 59 rd mag and swift/meticulous/fierce and about 1550 in carried rounds.  With the 4x LS I don't necessarily need swift, but I really don't use meticulous (don't even have the stats for it) so I'll probably try to roll it once 1.3 hits PS4.

What would you guys consider 'high' DPS now? I spent close to an hour just trying on different gear to find a balanced build and nothing seems to feel right. Help!!

The group I was with were GS204 and our DPS varied from 250k down to 150k ... end of the day its not pure DPS that's the key in this game. Especially if you run as a group you need a tank with high Toughness/Stamina (our tank had over 400k I think) and a guy with high Electroncs to reduce cooldowns and provide higher % buffs with crit hits on pings etc.

However, we're focused more on PvE which is why we're set up this way.

I like having a balance but am frustrated with changes in 1.3 (I'll get there though). I want to get back to having over 400k toughness with over 200k DPS and at least 15k skill.

So you're the tank? If so I think you're going to struggle getting your skill up quite that high whilst keeping toughness as high as that. You should get close though, I'll have to ask our tank as i'm the support (healer) guy really so I have higher Skill score (29k) but my toughness is pretty low at only 130k (think) and my DPS is on the low end as well because of my focus on First Aid (or is it Combat Medic?) and Recovery Link so I can get downed allies up pretty much immediately and with a fast turn around on skill refresh. I also have a PING I can throw out but I can swap that out for Support Station if the other guys have ping based builds.

*errors accepted, I'm at work and running purely on memory of what the skills are called*

Thanks for this man. I'm a bit narrow minded with my build. As long as it is strong for PVP I'm happy as I find it is pretty effective in PVE too. I think I need some more drops.

Without experience with the new gear, at the moment, "TANKtician" is still the way to go for PvP as far as I know. As I'm focusing on PvE more I've dropped my Tactician gear that I had.

I want to incorporate 2 final measure into my build for that lovely exotic damage resilience.  I'm not a huge fan of the sticky bomb but do like the heal skill. I might use two blind for the pulse boost, although am still a big fan of 4 piece striker.

My group, PvP and PvE, run like this. We are all basically tanks. we vary anywhere from 400k upwards to 550k toughness. We run one tac build and 3 dps builds. The dps varies anywhere from 190k upwards to 330k (his dps is boosted because of the 100% reload gearset bonus. realistically its at about 250k).

I think the Striker now makes you more of a glass-cannon build but i'm sure you can mitigate that.
I run 5 piece striker with one 229 reckless vest (i may change it though) My stats are 214k dps on the aug, 243 dps on the G36. 467k toughness and 18k sp.  Now i can switch gear mods for more toughness and less dps or vice versa depending on how the players in the server are.  I had the pleasure of running with a full set reclaimer the other day. That set is very OP for PvP and PvE.

I haven't had a chance to play 1.3 or Underground (PS4), but my stats are 120k DPS (M60/LVOA-C/MP5 ST), 395k toughness, 11.4k skill.  Best I've had for DPS was around 195k, but I WAY too squishy.  My playstyle works better if I'm build like a brick shithouse, but I have been trying to get some more electronics to help speed skill regen and make them better (I miss my Overdose that healed me all the way from one bar).

They shouldn't nerf SMGs.   It's not our fault they made almost every other gun type useless.   I think they should simply improve their other guns.   To me it's stupid.

If I am an manufacturer and I made 50 guns but only 3 is good then I think I would work on improving the other guns.  Take the Hungry Hog for example.   Nice looking gun, nice name, looks badass, but yet it's pure garbage.   I think massive need's to adjust their thinking.   Shotguns, LMG, and assault rifles should be a lot better than they are.   I think they focus to much on not making a particular weapon OP that they do more harm by simply making the weapon unusable.   And they wonder why everyone is using the same gun.  That's their fault!!! Not ours!!   The game has so much potential, yet they just have a few devs that Simply can't get it right.

If u keep nerfing then soon this game will just be a game of bullet sponges and weak gear.  At that point, the game is trash.

This is a valid point and it seems like an easy solution.  However, this will create an arms race:

*gun A is OP, so they buff guns B, C, D...

*gun B is now OP, so they buff guns A, C, D...

*and so on...

That's why they balance the weapons, like changing the crit hit to crit DMG on SMGs and adjusting the buffs on the other weapon types.

I agree that singling out weapons (Vector, AUG, G36) can be kind of garbage, but they realized these weapons had a base damage that was out of line with other weapons.  Again, if they up all the other weapons then you have to up skills, stats, etc. to return the game to the correct scale.
