Hey Guys,

just interested in knowing what loot is dropping and at that gear score its dropping at for the HVT.

is it worth the time and effort put in or are you better off farming the DZ? obviously there is higher risk to DZ tho

Thanks

I got a 182 AUG from one of the lower level HVT's that is actually better than the MP5 I have been using. I loved that MP5 so it was great to get something that competed with that. We did one of the HVT's that cost 30 and I got a couple green drops. Nothing spectacular but useable.

Its enjoyable. Its a fun experience. You might not get the best most awesome drop in the world but if that's the only reason you play the game then what's the point? Enjoy the experience.

Got 214  Lonestar gloves and a 240 Lonestar holster from the 'healer' weekly HVT that costs 30 Intel to activate, so yeah, I'd say it's worth it.

A handful...and I mean like 5 or 6 .. 162/182 gear and weapon drops (HE 182 AUG, HE 162 Vector to name two) also gear set items. My best prize (and realising I only played an hour last night) was a set of Nomad gloves.

If this keeps going I'll be smiling from ear to ear! Not only that but the gameplay is good...missions well balanced to make them a challenge but not impossible. I did die a couple of times on missions where the levels were just ALL SHOTGUNNERS but I just respawned, retried and cleared them with new tactics.

I didn't fail any of the no-respawn missions thankfully.

Playing the S&D missions from the safehouses, then replaying them on the next level up meant that I got 40 intel points really fast...then moving on to the daily/weekly missions from your main base....I had more gear than I needed, two or three bits better than I had previously as well and I think that's a good drop rate for them.

Yep, well worth doing.  The intel missions are not particularly hard for the most part (some can be a bit tricky) and the types of AI and types of locations also vary quite nicely.  The critical search and destroy missions give double intel so look out for them.

As for drops... blues and purples here and there (some purples have quite high GS as well).  Golds and gear sets.  I ended up with a couple of 191s, three or four 214s and a 240 from playing yesterday.    You are getting quite a few more materials if deconstructing as well.  Haven't seen too many weapon mods though at a gold level.

I don't believe they scale though, from what I have seen, so the higher level (lvl 32) ones may need a group.  We have done one with just two of us but playing with three was much easier depending on equipment and skill level.

I haven't had this much fun with the game in a long time. Not only do you get some decent gear from the HVT's but its actually enjoyable. I've been teaming up with a couple friends to run the dailies each day (and oddly the weeklies each day as well) and we have had a blast. Its not too hard but it does give you challenge. Less stressful than the DZ as well. If you aren't running the HVT missions you need to. Right away. Every day.

Played for the first time last night and got a 214 chest to complete my 4-piece Striker gear set. That was sweet. Also got a 191 Lone Star chest but gave it to my friend since his chest was the lowest GS he had. Also got some Lone Star gloves but I am using my Striker gloves for now. Still, that double ammo capacity would have been sweet.

This was just from the dailies. Haven't done the weeklies yet.

Last night during the Daily HVT's there was one where the boss dropped 2 Gear Sets for me (one 191 and one 214).  Then on the next one the same thing happened to Darcy.  Weeklies typically drop AT LEAST one 240 or two 214's from what I've seen.  HVT's are very worth doing.

Curious how long the whole process takes. How long does it take to build up enough chits to activate the weekly or what not. Not sure if they are worth doing if you can just go do a CM / Falcon Lost in 30 minutes and get a guaranteed 240 and 204 weapon(s)?

6 Search and Destroy Missions... maybe 15 minutes?  Possibly 20?  If you're doing the Critical safe houses, that should get you enough for at least one of the Weekly HVT's.  The HVT itself takes about 10 minutes or less.  To be frank, though; if you're doing a Challenge Mode Falcon Lost in 30 minutes, then that may be the more direct way to farm 240's.  Most people doing the HVT's aren't the ones that can even do Challenge Mode Falcon Lost (speaking from experience of ourselves lol).

Thanks for the tip. I haven't done any of the HVT stuff yet. It seemed like it was a really great option for those looking to get geared up on golds and some greens. Not sure if it was solid for those with 210+ gear scores. I'll stick to CM incursions and DZ 5/6 farming. Will try the HVTs out though they sound really cool. Nice to have some variety.

Yeah, if nothing else.. it'll keep you from getting burnt out on any one thing.

Definitely worthwhile.  I played one that ended with 3 named bosses and when it was done it looked like a bag of Skittles exploded where we were fighting.  I ended up getting 3 set pieces, 3-5 HE, and a mix of purples, blues, and greens.  The set pieces and HEs ranged from 182 to 214.  I found similar results on other HVTs, just not as much loot because they only had one named enemy.

I really need to do these in a group. I've barely touched the surface with the low-end "dailies" and they drop 163 & 182 stuff.
