PVP in this game is a joke

This is the first game I have ever played where bullying, spawn camping and ganking are actually rewarded.

You've all been there when you come out of an DZ entrance or safe house, only to be shot by a group before you've even finished loading. (The game penalises you for dying like this)

or

You're in a fight with a boss, you take him down and some other player, who is not marked as rogue, can happily shoot you in the back of the head. (yes, you get penalised for this as well)

The list goes on and on but the real rub is that you not only lose the gear you've picked up in the zone (that doesn't bother me in the slightest) but you actually lose money, DZ keys and experience points because some douche and his mates think it's funny to shoot you in the back. Who's idea was that? I honestly think they should remove the money, key and xp (especially xp) penalties from non rogue players being killed by other players who are not marked as rogue prior to initiating combat, and within a certain range of an entrance or safe house (sniper rifle range)

There is no real other end game at the moment so it's DZ or farm missions (yawn). The dailies take around 45mins or so to complete and there's one raid (just)

Oh I know the typical kind of response that'll come and likely from the people who thinks it's a great mechanic that you can gank other players and the game actually rewards you for it.

Welcome to the DZ , Not sure if you have played before one of the patches but going rogue penalized you a great deal , to the point were no one wanted to go rogue. But for the past weeks the penalty is far less , i think about 60% less and i for one is glad because even dying to NPC's you would lose a great deal of xp and credits. You are rewarded if you survive your bounty , and players are rewarded if you kill the rogues (i am sure you know this) seems like you are having some bad luck in the DZ , but i have never rarely come out of a saferoom or entered the dz and get ganked. Just bad timing i guess. Hope things get better. Or you can roll with us in the ilvl 161+

It may not be for everyone but some simple preparing can help overcome getting killed by other agents. First and foremost some simple area awareness is key. Using pulse constantly to scan your surroundings will help keep you alive and aware of agents in the area. If you are running solo try to pick the boss off and get out of the area vs. sticking around and fighting the rest of the mob. Also staying mobile is another very important thing to do. Don't use cover long as it makes you an easy target keeping mobile with rolls and constant moving makes it much more difficult to hit.

Signature Skill if solo I would recommend Survivor Link as the extra damage resistance and speed boost allow you to get out of the area quick and in a hurry as well. At the end of the day though the biggest and best thing to do is try and find a group to run with. This game IMO was designed with group play in mind and not so much the solo player.

Buddy you explained the dark zone perfectly. It's unprediablilty along with the unfairness is EXACTLY what is supposed to be.
Perfect statement my friend. Come prepared to defend everything you have against everyone else or don't come at all. If you get spawn camped, change spawns. If rogues are an issue, just wait a few minutes, they'll get curb stomped soon enough. If the entire DZ seems to be able to destroy you, maybe fix your build a bit.

If you're stuck in a DZ where there are a ton of Rogues you can also quit the game come back on and then should be put into a new DZ server as well.

IMO if you don't go into the DZ with the expectations of possibly getting stabbed in the back or spawned then you're pretty oblivious.

Every time I go in, I, fully prepared to lose everything by anyone at any level. Actually now,I'm pretty much engageding on any agents I see because I've been fucked over so many times lol, but that's the nature of the beast and I enjoy it

again..this type of PVP has been advertised for this game since the very beginning (3 years ago)...if you did any research what so ever before you bought this game, then you should have known what you were getting into...with that said, everyone on here has given you good advice, use your skills, they are there for a reason. keep your head on a swivel, group up with people you know and trust, and if you insist on going in solo, then avoid all contact as much as possible and be a ninja.

This ^^^

The only thing that really gets me is getting killed as soon as you enter the DZ. Not sure what they could do to fix that though. Maybe allow us to scan when you are the door? Give  us an idea of what to expect on the other side....

Or, they could give us a three second invincibility window. Sort of like MGS V does when you first enter onto another players FOB. Have us blink invisible on a three second countdown just until we get are wits about us/load completion upon entering from a check point or safe house. On the other side of the coin, we also can not do any damage during the count down.

this has only happened to me in the beta, havent had this happen at all since launch. Must be extremely lucky lol..the only way to combat this is, when they kill you spawn at another location, come up behind them, and take them out if you can...or leave the game and when you re-log onto the game, you will be on another server. The only thing they could possible do is have some type of buffer safe zone around the entrances and safe houses where there is no combat. but, i dont see them doing that

maybe something like no damage taken within 1o feet of the door...but even then, you'll have campers at 11 feet. 99% sure that it'll be what it is, take it or leave it.

All good ideas. Which might work. I don't think its wide spread enough that they would have to make changes. More of an annoyance.

For me I still like the idea of simply knowing what is on the other side of the door. I wouldn't want to see them create a buffer zone. But knowing what is on the other side gives you the chance to make a decision to go in or choose a different checkpoint.

i have walked up to the door leading into the DZ and seen the rogue symbol on the other side before, so i didnt enter at that door.  so i think you can see that. i only noticed it a couple times so not sure if it was a glitch those times or not.

Correct if go up to the door and wait a second, if there are Rogues on the other side of the door then you can see the indicator on your screen. I also have not had this happen to me more than once. I almost always pop in in DZ01 at the Southern entrance so I can work my way up the DZ and have good luck with that.
