Shitty UG Loot

When I'm more rested I really need to do some more Challenging runs now I've hit level 20 in UG and see what I get. Not had a Cache for a while of course (except last nights loot drop which got me a 268 vest).

Thing about UG is that the loot drops, even from the bosses, aren't always "the best"...its from your levelling up Cache's where you get the REALLY good stuff. I'm currently sitting at GS248 overall with mainly 204 weapons and 268 gear so 90% of what I get is crafting material in disguise but I'm not upset with that as there's literally no point in the game constantly feeding me two or more random 220 weapons or 268 items of gear for EVERY UG RUN. That would be the definition of having my cake and eating it.

Maybe what UG is missing at this moment is a fixed run or two you can choose. One mission in Challenging and one for epic, both are multiphase missions with 3 directives at least (players can add two more to further increase loot drops)...the dungeon is randomly generated with terrain but the mob types are set based on the set end boss. Boss has a fixed % chance to drop very specific items.

So its more like a WoW instance.

Also it would be nice to have solo HVT missions in short UG dungeons. Not high loot but for gaining Phoenix credits in addition to the HVT's on the surface.

I hit rank 30 last night from mainly running all hard missions. I was trying to grind to 30 as quickly as possible and running hard was the best way to do it in my opinion. The experience differential from hard to challenging just wasn't worth it. That being said, you just hit 20 and now have access to two phase missions. The second phase of the mission has a chance for better loot from any respective difficulty. Hard can grant 240 set pieces and challenging can grant 268. If you do three directives the guaranteed drop is at the base level though. Hard is 214, challenging 240 and heroic 268. That part doesn't change if you add phases or not. It's just a static reward.

If you want to rank up just run hard missions in two phase for now. Four directives nets something like 3400 experience, which is a lot of bang for the buck. Don't run challenging or above unless you want loot. Nothing worse than getting a group into a challenge and wiping on the last boss of the second phase for literally no reward. And 45 minutes spent doing it. If you wipe on hard your group is terrible or you just were trying to easy mode and weren't paying enough attention. Easier to stomach either of those options.
