I'm curious to hear what your thoughts are after tinkering.   What works for me may not for you and if you're using mods, you can make a couple loadouts for the same essential biuld - one glass cannon and one with more toughness.

Glad to see that the minor tweak in toughness is keeping you upright.
Now all I need to look for is a more stable assault rifle, love having a PP-19 in my secondary slot. Swapped it out for the marksman I had and it's way more useful. Since I have around 1300 ammo with my primary, then 1400 with my SMG, keeps me plowing away. Not to mention because of the rate of fire, accuracy and nice stability of the PP-19 I have, it melts just the same.

But yes, the extra toughness has made me a bit more on the survivability side which is good. Means I can play a little more aggressive than I already was.

Look at the Lightweight M4 (LWM4) and the LVOA-C.  Both are pretty steady and do solid damage, with the LWM4 doing more damage than the LVOA-C and the LVOA-C having a higher ROF.  I tend to think of the LVOA-C as the mule-like child of an AR & SMG: higher rate of fire than other ARs, more damage than SMGs, but less damage than other ARs and lower ROF than SMGs.

I can make the G36 more stable, but it does impact the damage of it significantly. I kind of want an AR that is gonna shred on the same level.

What are you experiencing? I loved the G36 until lvl 30, then it simply did not do the damage the ARs do.  Stability is a major/minor attribute on lotsa stuff  that can be utilized to really straighten out ARs and SMGs.  But Stability in and of itself has no impact to damage per hit, you just hit more often  :1_grinning:

Help me understand.

I can handle it's recoil just fine, though I'd be happier if I didn't have to do that. Mods I have or am finding impact the DPS value when I put them in for the added stability, thus me not even trying to keep them. I want to maintain the DPS. My G36 has 400k DPS almost, so I'm consistently plowing through enemies and players, just would prefer more stability so I didn't have to account for recoil as much.

The DPS calculation is currently broken.  Go more by what happens in game.  I have a 230K DPS D3 build that shreds - well everything.  DPS is just broken right now.  Look at hit damage, rate of fire, stability (based on weapon type) and crit change/damage.  For stats look at firearms and electronics as that impacts mods.  Be over 300K toughness - the stamina number really seems not to matter.  Weird I know.

Stability allows for a predictable recoil, like straight up.  For SMG, in my experience, it allows for keeping on target at 5m and with bursts keeping on target at 20m.  With cirt chance/damage really adding up.  I just traded out my MP5 for a V45 with great results - so ALWAYS look for an upgrade as the end game RAINS weapons/gear

My G36 up close shreds shit, I have around 7500 firearms. 330k toughness. I mainly wanted more of a stable AR for my ranged shots, as those are where recoil is a must to handle. I'd be open to using a different AR if I find one, probably one of the Lightweight ones if I find a decently rolled one.

Never tried a Tactical Authority build so quite clueless and uncle google wasn't much help to me.

This is more what I'd call a 2nd Draft. So, it is quite rough and needing improvement. Originally I tried a M60 but not so good in Legendaries.

Anything less than Legendary it rocks. Legendary I found the skills spread the damage to the elites so you're not really taking them down fast enough. So maybe lacks enough punch, or maybe that was more of a bad mix of builds in my pug.

I have focused more on Crit Dmg than CHC. And more on cool downs. I went with the relentless backpack. Vigorous, meh. And the MP7 is prolly not a good PVE choice, so really play value atm.

Plus, I'm finding the MDR generally good for skill builds.

Comments are most welcomed.

I don't play a ton of legendaries, namely because I have a hard time getting 4 players and random groups just don't seem to cut it.  That being said, here's my 2 cents:

• TA is more of a support build, so focusing on the turret & suport station with immunized or defined might work better for legendaries (seeker are good for PvP, IMO).

• I had a MDR with my TA toon and moved it to my toon that has a Firecrest and PM builds.  If you sub the seekers for support station I'd possibly go with a different weapon.  If you want to keep using the MDR, swap shrapnel for the wildfire and switch your turret to fire or fear tactics and shock turret so you get the bonus damage on more targets under status effects.

• I use the M60 as my primary on one of my TA builds for crowd control purposes - I suppress so the DPS players can get where they need to for the kills and it throws a lot of lead to build your stacks.  I like the MP7 or MP5, so possibly switch to an MP5 if needed.

Those are my initial thoughts and I'm curious to see where this goes.

This is good Though, I already have a Firecrest build and a Reclaimer build on another toon, so looking for something different. Also heard people using TA with the ballistic shield, though was even less certain about what works. Even though my toughness is low I get good healing off my skills, just got to hang back a bit and not get caught in the open, which is fine since it isn't a build that needs to go into the thick of it.

My current build shreds Challenging Missions on solo which is pretty damn good. I have to be tactical but firepower wise, I rip shit up. I don't think I'd be able to have the best of both worlds and be a tank too, so I'm content with borderline 300k toughness.

Yeah, like you, I find it handy to have one gear stat rolled into Stamina. Gives you more flexibility in putting yourself in harms way. They meta is to have none in Stamina and rely on health gar and mod rolls.

I run at least 1 in Stamina, but that makes up for my less than stellar skills and spudlike aim.  I really like running with at least 300k toughness and it's not always easy to get there without at least 1 piece in stamina.

Current fave is my TA build.  Needs some good firepower in the group though.  As @Oh. daesu has found.  Lacks enough punch in legendaries alone.  Used it in a group with a Sentries Call and two other fairly light.  We did Napalm Legenday but felt like it took twice as long as with a strong group of randoms.

Skill power is with the 30% TA bonus.  It is usually around 288k.  The flame turret really has some reach on it now.  Support station does around 12k healing per second @288k SP).

As well as the weekly Ledgendaries, I have also just done Falcon Lost and CLear sky with randoms and it did ok.  Clear Sky I ended up getting both the boxes and plugging them in and then doing the laptop...  Went down a few times but only needed to be revived twice as I had revive stations down the other times.  OverHeal helped a lot as well.

My current build, managed to get my toughness nearer towards the mid 300k mark a couple weeks ago.

It obliterates PvE in Hard / Challenging. I take out bosses with ease too, most times I don't even need to reload.
