Darkzone chests...do they open?

OK so I have watched the videos and made countless farm runs around the chest locations but out of the 3 days I have never seen a chest be able to open. Yes we/I had DZ keys.

Curious if anyone actually had any luck getting one to open? If they are that hard to find one that will unlock, I don't see why its worth the effort.

I've seen only one be opened. I approached it and it prompted me to open it, however due to all the rogue agenting, I did not have any dz keys (ugh) and not a second later a random agent approached it and open it. It was the chest in the subway station where the cleaners are located.

I've been at that chest so many times with keys......very frustrating. Hopefully just a beta thing.

I have opened one by the cleaners spawn, and seen one opened the loot gets shared. But I have been on everyday after and have not been able to open one. Not sure if it's resets server side or by time.

They are very glitched right now. Some servers they work, but most they do not. I have managed to get a few to open post rank 10 DZ, but its very rare for them to work right now. The devs are very aware of it and are going to have it fixed. just keep checking them because even if you cannot open the chest, there tends to be high end NPC enemies around them

Yay I just got one to open. The one at the library. Finally got enough for that high end assault rifle!

I ended up with three keys, and despite coming across several crates, I was never able to open one. I never even had a prompt come up. I'm hoping that is fixed so that people can open them more frequently. Fingers crossed!

Yeah man. I kept getting impatient and I would buy other DZ gear instead of saving up. But the chest put me over 3k finally.

Well folks, dont you all worry. The devs are aware of the situation and we'll get our DZ chests on release.

We opened about five in a half hour period, pretty much every single one we approached. but that was the only point in the whole BETA that we got ANY to open despite countless attempts. we only received green loot from the ones we opened.

I read something they were on a 2 hour respawn timer, as all the caches (the little green ones, etc.) were on that respawn timer.

I imagine there were people camping them or timing there respawn too which probably made it even harder for us to find an available one.

I probably got lucky, the first day I barely looked for the chests but I think I opened one and on the sunday I opened at least five of them (not including when I killed another agent to get the chest loot)
