I was level 139 when trying out my first Challenging run with a random group... they kept me along all the way until the final boss and then kicked me. I wasn't doing poorly either. Sure, I wasn't killing as many as them but I was mic'd and I was doing my part. My guess is they had a friend that wanted the PxC.

Next umpteen attempts... booted before the missions even started. I would get in a game, look around, then be ported right back to a safe house. finally a friend dropped me a pair of 136 gloves that he didn't need which got me out of 130's territory and I wasn't booted on a run that we completed. now at 160, I don't seem to be booted as much, but is this common. If you don't meet a requirement, you get the auto-boot?

Sounds like people just profiling bud. I've seen someone, I won't name names, do this on incursion... seems kinda lame and petty to do it on challenging missions though.

Yeah.. Incursions I kinda get. But Challenging? That, for me, would be the type where if I got that good at them, I would want to walk that 110 guy through. Possibly get him that first 182 piece. I tried running it with a 90's level guy... granted, we failed. Lol. But we tried.

Well bud, if you were on PC I'd run ya through it. Just keep trying. My best advice is to stay on the top right platform where the generators are, watch the door behind ya and watch for that explosive drop from the APC. When the bomb drops from the Elite, grab it and when you get close enough pop your Signature skill (Survivor Link) and plant it on the back of the APC and run your ass off. Good Luck

I've been kicked from challenging runs before and it just plain sucks.  Nothing you can do and you are out of the party so you can't even give them a piece of your mind.  I was on the other night and none of my friends were on so I decided to matchmake the Lincoln Tunnel for some quick easy PxC.  I got put in a group with 3 guys who obviously all knew each other.  They were all around a 160 gear score.  I'm 192.  I was doing A LOT more killing than them, reviving them, etc.  Got to the final boss and like 3 other enemies and they kicked me.  I was PISSED.  Only hope is that Karma bites them in the ass someday. (Hopefully in real life!)

thats the only problem with gaming with randoms. you have no clue what type of people you are going to be teamed up with, unfortunately most are asshats. but you will find some good people in game sometimes...the ones you find that are solid people, ask them to put you on their friends list.  That way you can build a good team of people you can trust and count on

I'll second what Blazzen says.  I got in with two randoms a few weeks ago.  Two Aussie brothers from the other side of the world.  We did the Lexington Event Center with good communication the whole way through.  They asked if I wanted to do the dailies with them afterwards.  I had already done them but was having fun just listening to them so I said I'd do them again to just to give them an extra gun.  They appreciated that, we added each other on friends lists and have become a solid team running dailies, weeklies, and DZ almost every night.  So it does work out sometimes.

Shootinxs... that sucks. So I guess that type of boot isn't too uncommon, then, since it was almost identical to what mine was. I was pissed because it was going to be my very first Challenging Run and thought it was cool that a group was letting me run with them.

If you are on xbox just add me and we'll run you through some challenging missions and DZ to get you some gear.  I'm not internet savvy enough to find out what system you are on.  The other thing is we are on late night.  usually around 10pm-2am EST.

Yeah. I have definitely teamed up with some good people here and there. Threw out the offer to friend up but I don't get on as regular as others. I have been hitting my dailies since 1.1 but still usually to just knock out Hards and log off. The Challenging runs are really just twice a week or so.

What level before you started rocking Challenging on a regular basis?

Put me on your list and if you see I'm on join the group if there is room and you are more than welcome to run with us.  We are a non hostile group in the DZ.  We just look to farm and rank up.  We avoid going rogue if at all possible and don't even go hunting trouble unless it comes to us.  If we get killed in PVP its almost always because we get jumped from behind.  Thats the only time we go rogue hunting.  We have a strong team and can usually exact revenge but then its back to farming and XP.

Sounds like a great fit. My fiends and I play the exact same way when we throw down. I'll throw an invite. Same XB1 tag as here, "shootinxs76"?

I should probably add... 40year old married guy with kids, so you aren't getting a 12 year old in mom's basement. I always cringe when I hear that tiny high pitch voice in my headset.... ;)

In fairness, 139 is a little low. By the time you really get the hang of the runs doing hard modes, you should be around 160. That's not to say you can't accomplish the run at 139, but you're essentially being carried.

As to the kicking, I'd like to see that power taken from the leader and put to a majority vote instead. Even leaders need a kick sometimes.

shootinxs... invite sent

xeromaus... I agree on both counts. I made sure to say thanks too for helping on my first run. I guess I don't mind so much that they kicked me, it was that they waited until the end. I would prefer to see kicking be as it is before the mission starts. But once you start, it should only be unanimous decision or for inactivity. My firend just got a yellow on hard that he fell asleep in. Lol. He woke up and got his yellow then logged off. Lucky he wasn't booted.

Sorry to hear that guys. I was running dz with some randoms. They all had low gear score soi was dropping them gear to help them. If you get on pc, then add me IESGNI. Ill be more then happy to help.

Seeing a lot of older crowd gamers in the forum and it's good to see, most of the time you get kicked for no reason by shitty arse kid who thinks its funny. I agree that a vote boot system would be beneficial, same outcome if you happen to join a group of friends but at least with random people you should be covered. I will always try to carry or help a guy out, it's rewarding haha most are appreciative some are just dicks, just the way the world is I guess ...
