Death Otter
So the ESRB officially rated The Division M for Mature citing Blood, Intense Violence and Strong Language. What do you guys think?

Game ratings mean very little to people nowadays and most parents let their kids play whatever they want. The game was almost certain to either be rated M or T, either way it really doesn't matter to me as long as the world feels immersive and not made with children playing in mind.

Yeah definitely glad this isn't a Wii U game haha. I hear ya though, no one cares about these ESRB ratings anymore. I remember back in the day when it was all a big deal, around the time GTA 3 came out... I used to play that game for hours. First time I ever played an "open world" game. Good times.

I think one of the bigger reasons that the ratings are starting to matter less and less is that most people understand that just because you kill something in a video game doesnt make  you a murderer in real life, that was a topic of controversy for a long time and I actually found it hilarious that people used to think that way.

Well they've done so many studies on the subject proving how ridiculous it is that people believe in that nonsense. I've been playing violent video games all my life, even own guns and never once have I thought about murdering anyone, not to say I wouldn't if my life or the life of a loved one or hell an innocent person I don't even know's life was in danger. Regardless I believe murders are born, not created. A missing piece in someone's brain, a missing conscience. Meh just conjecture.
