Thoughts on Darkzone

Tonight was my first experience with The Division. I jumped into the Dark Zone, since PvE is fairly limited. While I was in there (solo), I ran into a rogue agent, and began shooting at him. A few stray bullets hit another player, and I instantly went rogue... what? This needs to be altered. I was brainstorming on stream, and ProjectKiwiRock threw out the idea that you should be rogue only when you kill another player.

Is anyone else having this issue? And what other ideas can we come up with?

Have a great Beta weekend!

What's also a problem is the players you accidentally shoot look like npc enemies by becoming red on the map and red above their character. Very hard to differentiate especially in the extraction zone when both npc and other players are present.

agreed ,this need to be tweaked a little bit. more than a few times, im either shooting at an AI or a rogue agent when another agent walked in front of my line of fire, and needless to say, me and my team went rogue. also, when you are trying to take down a rogue agent, it shouldn't take more than a full clip to take him out after he goes down on one knee. too many times his buddy's revive him and they in turn kill me

Gotta have muzzle awareness.
Well muzzle awareness is one thing, but players strafing into your line of fire is another... There needs to be more of a threshold.

I do admit that there is reason for the low threshold. If a player gets hit, they could run around until backup arrives. That makes sense.

I'd like to see some different colors or shades to help identify friendly and hostile characters.

If they have red above them then they've gone rogue, so it's ok to shoot them without any penalty against you going rogue.

That's not entirely correct. I've seen guys who turn red (without the skull) but when you kill them you've gone rogue yourself.

This whole rogue system is all good but they need to adjust it a little bit. An example: I got killed by some guy, he gets killed as well by some DZ police. a couple of minutes later I come across this very same person. He follows me and I just know he wants to shoot me, so I take out my shotgun and let him close up. He hits me first, and then I put a full blown headshot with the shotgun killing him instantly. I go rogue

As I said, I like the rogue system, it just needs some fine-tuning

Yeah I found this out shortly after this post while I was the DZ and I don't get.  Why do none rogue players even have red over them in the first place?

I haven't spent a lot of time in the DZ myself as of yet, but I just thought of something regarding the red being over a player characters head.  Maybe it's to signify a player who has gone rogue in the recent past, but has currently/actively survived the timer count down on his/her rogue status.

This might be the case. It could also be that they shot you once (for a measly amount of health) just not enough to go full blown rogue. Might be the case why I went rogue instantly when he got shredded by my shotty

Yup, that's it. I just had it clarified.  If you shoot another player a few times without killing them, it's a warning that if you continue you will be flagged as rogue.

I've found the pulse to be invaluable for this situation and it's the first ability that I upgraded. Even outside the DZ where non-enemy NPC's look a lot like enemy NPC's just wondering the streets.

I've got the pulse as well, modded into the stealth variant. I've been hunted down by groups of rogue agents, pulsed, I disappeared from there view and hid from them. I've seen them walk right by me so many times

Right now I only have mine up to the second stage and didn't even know it could do this, but now I know what will be my next upgrade for sure.
