Noob in the game, so...

I keep getting a message: your weapons have lower level than your current level (or something alike)

The case is: they are indeed lower but the stats are better.

I thought it was a "mods" thing and tried to mod the higher level ones, but the stats were worst anyway.

Should I try to use higher level 10s even if they have worst stats than my 4s?

Or maybe I am seeing just DPS stats... and I must see other stats too?

Thanks for any answer.

You're level 10? If the lv4s are better then rock on.

But really, it is not so serious. When you are leveling up you can play around with different weapons, just to get the feel. I do find some of the blue lv5 weapons remain good compared to the rest. But not so much after lv10, so better weapons should be just around the corner for you.

In this game trust the stats and your own experience, more than level or (later on) gear score. be empirical lol,

Edit:

Oh, yeah, other stats. There are "talents" but not sure how relevant they are at that level. And critical %, headshot, amour damage. They become more relevant as you progress.

I was thinking the same thing as this.

Another thing to look at is the weapon damage (DMG) number.  It's possible your lvl 4 gun rolled really high or max on DMG and the lvl 10s are rolling low or min on DMG.  If that's the case, is possible (although with a 6 lvl difference unlikely) that your lvl 4 gun does more damage than the lvl 10 and might have a higher DPS.

It's also possible if your lvl 4 is a blue that it has a weapon talent and that your stats are good enough to unlock or enable the talent.  This can boost its DPS and if you're comparing it to a white or green lvl 10, the weapon won't have a talent to help boost its DPS.

Hope this helps.
