Scavenging - is it worth it?

I agree with @TheDarkZone with the black market AK74. Just keep rolling that with your parts as it is not a dark zone blueprint you don't need the hard to stockpile HE division tech. I would advise crafting the BMAK74 until you land the stability +46% talent, makes the gun a hell of a lot better! I am yet to get the caduceus or liberator (told it's not worth it) but have my eyes on the tanebre next from dz06 vendor.

Everyone I know who picked up the Tanebrae hates it. They all like the M44 blueprint better. Some people have a real aversion to the bolt-action rifles though.

Tenebrae is honestly not worth it, depending on your play style. I know some people like to use Marksman rifles without sniper scopes. w/ a good magazine, the Tenebrae can hold a decent amount of rounds. I bought it as a 'Named weapon collector' and also to try it out but ended up replacing it with a High End Socom M1A due to it's stat roll.I personally use the Liberator, that thing is my workhorse. I like it alot. Talents are a bit to be desired. but with the right mods it can be used in almost any situation or build. Stable enough to use a CQBSS scope, w/ the right magazine, fast enough to compete with SMG's. There are positives and negatives to All of these weapons.

Appreciate the feedback on the tenebrae! I am a bit of a named weapon collector myself, unfortunately only ever dropped the Midas (3 times in DZ!) will check my current blueprints out when im home from work and online. Never been part of a forum before but this is good! Thanks for the comments about weapons etc. guys!

I was really disappointed that the High End weapons in the 'Advanced Weapons Vendor' in the security wing haven't been swapped out. It's safe to say everyone has had a chance to buy the Pakhan and the Cassidy by now. Not sure if Ubi ever will.

I also have never been a part of forums! #bonding

Revisiting this thread from a while back...

Now after the update I am thinking that scavenging does effect your drops! I am basing this on running in the dark zone. I scrapped all my scavenging stuff a while back. I have a scavenging rate of 6% and was hitting nothing but 163 drops in dz 05/06. A friend I run with has 4 piece nomad and has his scavenging rate at 188%. To this day I have not had a gear set (dark green) drop in the dark zone. My nomad friend has had 5! So I crafted some more knee pads and got +88% scavenging on them. With my scavenging now at +94% I have noticed I am hitting considerably more 182 drops then I was in dz. I am currently searching for a nomad back pack so I can get the +100% scavenging bonus (I bought gloves from vendor) I am going to test this and will let you guys know how I get on. Maybe we got it all wrong with the scavenging or possibly the devs changed what it does after the update. Who knows....

If they really changed it, it may be worth looking for scavanging on your gear now. But the "old" system so to speak was not worth it. Because players even with 200%+ Scavanging did not find more HE drops or better drops in general. I do hope though, that you are right.

So do I! Haha would be great to get an answer to the scavenging riddle from the devs. I suppose if they confirmed it then everyone would want scavenging gear. Just need to get my nomad backpack and then I can test this theory

I have been seeing more gold materials drops when scavenging for firearms / tools / cloth parts in the last week or so.  Maybe the Thursday update corrected an issue with it.

Not seen much change with loot drops though.

Is scavenging supposed to affect farming craft items as well. I have over 200% and I do not really see a  difference while running around collecting all the tools I can find. Still lots of greens, maybe 2-4 gold after hitting 80% of the toolboxes on the map
