Hey guys I'm pretty new at this, I've been only playing the division a few weeks. I'm up to level 26 now and was wondering if I should wander into the dark zone? I went there once and ran around for a few minutes just enough to be level 3 then a rogue agent shot me down dead out of no where.  Luckily I didn't collect anything so I didn't lose any thing.  What level is it best to be to go into the dark zone? Once inside can you team up with ppl?  Any advice on how to approach the dz is much appreciated.

You'll have to go in sometime, and for a fairly long time...might as well start when it's easier below 30.

What about picking up a group? I really don't have anybody I play with, I usually join groups as I go when I can.
Well, you can try to find other players when you get in there, join the in game matchmaking system from a safehouse, or look over the clan registry/group finder on this site. You definitely want a group for the DZ...it's not necessary, but it will make it more fun/easier.

I'd say it's almost imperative to have a group unless you're fully prepared for what the DZ offers. If you do roll alone prepare for consequences and don't make a thread complaining how you got gangbanged lol

I'd advise not going in alone if you can avoid it as well ... that said I've only just started venturing in myself and been alone but haven't gone in too far. I just think even simple things like taking down Ai mobs is best with a group or you'll burn through your ammunition very fast.

A 4 player group means more fun, quicker AI kills which again means more loot per hour and you have the benefit, that 4 man groups do not get attacked that often from rogues. Not that there are no 4 man rogue groups playing together but at least the solo rogues think twice before attacking a 4 man group. Just do not spread out too much...ah and try not to stand too close together also. Avoid the sticky bomb 4.5m range.

Grouping up is the way to go.

I found soloing when the DZ is busy is good/fun. There are so many groups running about that you are working with others. When things are not that busy then those other groups can easily tell you are on your own, so they may starting thinking you're an easy option to go rogue on. When things are dead quiet then it all becomes just hard work. All the ai is active, all the time. This was how the DZ was for me between 20-30.

So, definitely a group is the better than soloing. At the end you'll see that you generally have more DZ creds from a group than a solo trip.
