I guess this has not been posted yet. According to this Skill-Up guy, the weapon balance are as the following:

- SMG: No more Critical Hit Chance. Changed to 'Critical Damage' bonus

- AR: Armor Damage bonus. For PvE only

- Shotgun: Chance to Stagger bonus. For PvE only

- LMG: Damage bonus when out of cover.

Curious changes to be honest. Instead of stealth buffs or debuffs they seem to have gone for something more obvious, perhaps that's a good thing as it'll be easier to tailor your play style to fit but ....

LMG: Damage bonus when out of cover.
Who uses a weapon out of cover except in PvP???

Sorry, I meant the weapon gives bonus damage to NPC targets who are out of cover/not hiding behind a cover.

Ahhhh!! ok, that makes sense. So LMG's will do more damage when enemies are in the open and continue to suppress them once they've got there. That's giving it a definitive role now ... I like that.

I hate that they are giving Assault Rifles a buff that only impacts PVE. I think that is dumb.

In most shooters, AR's are kind of the standard weapon of choice with every other weapon category being for more specialized roles. They should have a bigger part in PVP.

I do like that they are trying to do something to make LMG's meaningful. Kind of wish they went even further with it, but it is a good start.

Definitely nerfed the SMG's. They will probably still be the weapon of choice for most people, but that is a significant change.

I agree, I will like all the buffs to be for both modes, PVE and PVP, I mean you still not gonna use AR in PVP if you go for it unless you gor good perks with the guns! LMG love the buff, SMG I kind a like it but still gonna be primary choice, shotguns love it...will be really useful if you go rogues or hunt rogues....even in PVE, no buff for snipers( Nice!!! )

Finally makes the LMG worth running. 30% total dmg increase on those weapons is nuts. You'll still have to get a strong drop on the meta LMG, but it'll be worth running. CHD change to the SMGs is smart. ARs giving it armor dmg is also nice. Balancing for the win!

I also think they should give AR's something that would be useful in pvp. But overall, I'm good with the changes. Might have to dig out my savage gloves again.

Does these changes happen on the 28 with the next expansion I never heard to much about the weapon balancing till now

Rumour has it that a platform wide 1.3 update will drop on 28th with X box and PC also getting the Underground (paid) DLC. Ps4 Underground DLC release 2nd August.

Should be interesting change to SMGs.  I've heard they either already have or are going to set a hard crit chance cap at +60%, which would include all bonuses for weapon, mods, and pulse.   Could mean that SMGs get a little less love.

Massive staff, Hamish, updated news regarding Weapon Rebalance at Ubisoft forums, as quoted below:

Hi everyone,

In putting together patch notes, it's become clear that there are specific changes coming to the weapons that will impact some existing weapons. Some of the changes will only apply to weapons dropped after the update. There will be more information about this on Thursday in the State of the Game but it might be worth holding on to those crafting materials for now. Just thought you should know.

Cheers,

Hamish

As you can expect, current status is FUBAR, since people have been preparing their god rolls, only to end up re-rolling again post-update.

They aren't too clear on what that actually means, but if my brutal deadly fierce ar doesn't get the armor destruction, I won't be happy :(

Maybe they will do the same sort of thing to existing smg's and instead of giving them the crit damage bonus, they will just drop the crit hit bonus.
