I managed to matchmake with a couple of guys from the UK and a guy from SA (I think) all oldies like me (within a year of each other apparently) and we all communicated well, worked well, baiting the AI in and finishing them off. Even when two went down and we have 3 AI rushing around tight corridors we were able to overcome them and revive the fallen.Another issue relating to communication is how people see the game played most often.
Take a look at Twitch, YouTube etc .. how many game plays are there where people play “correctly”?? Not many!! A constant barrage of players not bothering to take cover, obsessed with high toughness/high DPS orientated build because, let’s face it, they do work (to an extent in solo play and if you have someone to prop you up in group play) …and you get a huge player base who ONLY know that way of playing as they’ve never played pure MMORPG’s before.
The “Media” is bad…
I do wish there were class based presets though as @RimBlock said …. I 100% always gear for healing, all my talents are geared to protection and healing (Defib/smart cover/tactical link etc) and now I’m trying to buff my toughness now my armour mit is at 75% and drop my DPS a bit more.
I kinda miss WoW’s LFG chat channels …. “GS240 healer LFG” lol!
Unfortunately we failed on the 3rd phase Heroic as we got one of those areas with almost no cover on the subway lines. The other three went down but not dead, two on top of each other in a train car and as I couldn't get to them I was behind cover and went to switch to the revive first aid skill) and get slammed by a healer who rand right up. So disappointing after the effort we had put in. We came out and disbanded as someone had to log off etc but it was a really refreshing change. All mic'd up, all using the same language (quite rare for me in Asia), all experienced (old).
I will see if I can get some decent cover action captured and put it up. I am now using ShadowPlay to capture and it is seeming to be so much better than DXTory, for both filesize and the ability to capture 1440p without dropping frames.
