Support Station Mod – Life Support Question

Does anyone know if the Life Support Mod for Support Station works if you are playing solo?  Would make a nice backup as a solo player during boss fights.

Yes it does apparently, I read this somewhere yesterday and it came as a surprise to me. One of my mates confirmed they have used it in the past and it works.
