Quick question on gear and weapons

Ok so I just started a new character I'm at 7 right now and I've been equipping as far as weapons go anything that I see with a higher then I already have enemy armor damage see I'm trying to get this character to be good for the dark zone I figured that since in there and any missions really besides normal are good for having that right? I don't know I'm not the best when it comes to games like these am I doing okay so far? Any advice would be awesome just something that I can understand lol no offense to y'all who are great at this game oh and gear idk I've just been seeing what's good for toughness and primary dps or certain details like increased whatever

Please add some punctuation to that block of text (specifically commas and full-stops / periods) as it is kinda hard to find out which way the text should be read, out of the available options.  It will then make it much easier to help you.

I did get the jist about enemy armour damage  (EAD) and the dark zone.  EAD is only relevant for PvE (ie against the AI bad guys) and does nothing for PvP.  I wouldn't be too bothered about building for the DZ at level 7 as your gear is very likely to change massively as you progress up.  If you want to run the DZ a lot before hitting level 30 then I would look at concentrating on gear a bit more from level 25 onwards.

If you want to run the DZ from now upwards then go for it but be aware, EAD will not do anything when you encounter other players in there.

Lv 7 is tough for a bit of pvp. these are the level brackets, 5-14 15-19 20-24 25-29 30.

So, lv14 lv19, lv 24, and lv 29 are good for pvping.

Getting the signature skill Survivor's Link as soon as possible is quite handy.
