Quick DZ extraction question

Just wondering if anyone knows when you have definitely secured your loot.  Is my loot safe as soon as the bag is on the rope or does the chopper have to actually be up up and away?  For example, if I get my loot on the rope and then in the 15 or so seconds before the chopper leaves I get shot and die will I still get the extraction? 

Just wondering if that extra 10 or 15 seconds of high blood pressure and anxiety is necessary or not.  Thanks!

The moment you get the yellow pack on the rope it is "secured" and can no longer be taken. You don't have to wait for the chopper to take off.
