I keep thinking a good AR would be pretty nice too. I've got a Liberator with mediocre rolls that I rarely use and a Lightweight M4 that's pretty decent. I keep it in my primary slot for the extra DPS, by I usually only use it if I'm screwing around or my Vector (secondary slot) isn't chewing things up well enough.
The lightweight M4 was a pre-1.1 random DZ drop, so unfortunately I don't have a blueprint to try some rerolls for different talents. I'll have to check and see which talents mine has, since I don't remember off the top of my head.

This is so true. I got better weapon drops before 1.1. I'll have to take a look at the AK. I tend to ignore them because they typically jump all over, but I keep hearing that people love them.
I did buy the HE SA-58, but I didn't get to tinker with it much. The talents are crap and don't unlock with my firearm/stamina build, but it's accurate as all hell and has like 10.2k DMG/round. I'm used to firing my M4 in burst, so I don't have an issue that it's a 3-round burst, I just wish it had better talents.

You may need just a touch of stability on your weapon mods, but it really doesn't jump much at all. As far as assault rifles go, I've found the AK platform to be the most stable in game.
Even with all the 204 weapons that have passed through my hands, my BMAK still lives in my standard build at a gear score of 214.

Yeah. Somebody needs to find the guy responsible for adding the new 204s to stock and let him know what a weapon should be.
Granted, he had one major hit with the AUG, a slightly lesser hit with the socom dmr...but after that it's just been a river of poo.
Not everything has to be a damage beast... would it really be so hard to introduce build specific weapons? It seems every weapon posted is just a mashup of 2-3 different builds, and useful to no one.
