N00B guide

I usually toss turrets in roofs and walls so they can't  be stomped and support stations behind some form of cover, usually a little behind the "front line" so my squad is protecting it.  Of course, I run support station on my reclaimer build and I've got all sorts of mods so it lasts forever and has expanded range, if I remember right.

OK, another N00B question, I now have enough "specialized" (blue) crafting items that I can create "high end" crafting items - but as I don't have any high-end blueprints should I bother?  Or will having the crafting items spur auto blueprints?

Simon Burris - good god, I am 4 levels above him and while I can always get to him, he kicks my tukas.  Tried several approaches, no joy :(

again, many thanks for the help.

Depends on where you plan to get your +amour mods? I craft mind, so I like my lv34 firearms/stamina/electronic blueprints. To get you amour mitigation up towards 56%... you need these. Mostly, you need electronics.  There could be better ways, but if you craft...

As for Simon. flank, flank, leave the building. Don't get caught. Keep plugging away at his amour until you can go in and kill him off. Don't get caught, he is slow. Use that lack of speed. If it is where I think it is, the exit has a left and a right. Draw him out, and go back in. Just don't get caught. And, plug away at his amour until he is ready to be killed. Kill his mobs first. You need to avoid him, so mods with ak47s make that difficult.

LMG have the box at the back of their backpack. Though with Simon that might not count for much. If you have a turret place it where they can't get to. Some times they walk up to the turrent and stare at it in frusration. Which is good, since you get to plug away... without getting caught. And, don't get caught.

The only HE blueprint I think you get is from beating the SP game, but it's like a GS 163 sidearm so it's nothing special.  That being said, each week there's tons of blueprints available at the various vendors and like @Oh. daesu said, crafting your own mods and items can sometimes be the best way to upgrade your gear or "find" the piece you need for your build.

As for Burris, I've pretty much played the entire game in a group all 3 times I've played it, so we've just used focused fire and alternating who's shooting to draw threat, something you can't really do solo.

Wish I could remember the Burris mission! :(
If I'm remembering the mission right, you fight him in a auto shop type garage that has two parralell shelves of supplies that are set up similar to the electrical fixtures in the final room in Warrengate.  You enter from a large already open roll up door and he comes out of an office area on the opposite side.

Yeah that's the one. And the single entrance has a left and right turns, so you can retreat out one side and loop straight back in again.
Oh yeah, I remember I didn't have that much issue with it to be honest as all I did was kite the hell out of him running around and around the shelving units until I'd killed off all his minions...was just a matter of keep kiting around the shelves and taking pot shots at his weakpoints.

Took a long while though.

gotch-ya.  He does not seem slow to me.  He flat runs me down.

I am able to kill everyone else before tackling him. But even evading from cover to cover he kills me very quickly.

On crafting - what vendors?  The only vendors I have seen are gear and weapons and none of those guys had blueprints.

On another topic - I see people in safe houses with a level indicate of say 256 - can I assume that is this number?

Run outside, around the corner and go back into the warehouse by the side door. To my knowledge the mobs won't respawn and I don't believe he will follow you very quickly (though, as I fought him before patch 1.4 I can't guarantee that anymore!).

What level are you by the way? I realise this changes almost daily though.

"Gear Score" - After your character reaches level 30 you no longer level up. Character level is calculated by "Gear Score", which is an average of the quality of your gear you have access too (weapons, equipment). Every item has a score (think starting at 031) and currently the upper level is 256. So if you see a player with a score of 256 you know he's fully equipped with the highest level gear.

Your Gear Score is used to allow access to Incursions and other in-game activities and World Tier levels.

World Tiers are difficulty settings for the open world (from 1 to 5) and they vary the level of Ai mobs you face normally as well as difficulty levels available for you to select on missions (i.e. Heroic is only available in World Tier 5).

OK, found special blueprints vendor - all lvl 30 - useless (lvl 20 now).

Found another vendor, but no inventory.

Somewhat discouraging.
