N00B guide

OK, maybe not N00B - but I took on a initial (1st level HVT) and went out and killed him.  No reward notice.  I went back to the BOO and the mission shows as 'Available'.  What is that?  The HVT is dead. So confused....

It has registered as a failure somehow, Not sure why. I know it can be sensitive about whether you entered the area of the hvt and then as you maneuver you run back out again. Ive run around a corner and then run back to take up position. There's a message that tells you need to get back but it is easy to miss.

This would be my best guess as to what happened.  There's not a counter or anything, it just says that you're leaving the area and if you don't return immediately you end up failing the HVT.

Maybe the first time, but I went back and again killed the main guy.  No mission complete, no reward.  So I rebooted and did it a third time - again same results.  Next day no issues.

/sigh - just a weird glitch I guess.

Unfortunately, these kinds of glitches/bugs still pop up.  If you can record video leading up to and including the completion of the HVT, send it to Massive on the official forums and they can look into it.

OK, another N00B question - what is the re-spawn time for PvE bosses?

It's more than an hour, but how often?

It has been 4 hours. Though, not sure if they have changed that along the way.

Agreed with @Oh. daesu - last patch notes where these were amended set them to 4hr intervals so that people can't constantly farm them at the exclusion of other parts of the game. That said you can farm all of them at least twice per day, more if you don't need sleep!

Yup, I know people that hit them 3x: before work, lunch, after work or they run multiple toons through.

OK, that is what I thought.  I do have two toons that can easily do the round and with the map showing fast travel points it takes me a little over an hour.  Sgt Jacks was an issue for a while but my updated D3 puts him down fairly easily.  The other are pushovers.  :15_yum:

Ahh...now... the trick is to farm with four avatars/toon's ... BUT only if you have storage room and they are all the same level. You can farm 4 sets of bosses...4 times...3-4 times a day...breakdown or store what drops and share all between all four toons for all your different builds.

Legendary becomes available only when you're Gear Score is 256 and you're running in the highest World Tier. ALSO...its only available on certain incursions/missions. Don't worry though I've never completed a Legendary yet either! I barely scrap through Challenging as I just don't have the time/brains to min-max my build lol!

I have never seen the legendary option, my gear is 256 and I am world tier 5.  I will have to see if Legendary shows now that I know where to look for it.
