Man... It must be rough out there in the new DZ201+

Played a few solo HVT's last night and before finishing up i decided on going to the DZ. I match made and linked up with 3 guys in DZ06. they were 204, 210 and 215 GS (or similar) I had been playing with my GS score and forgot I still had 204 gear in my inventory, but much lower equipped, I was not well set up, so here i am in the 201+ DZ with a GS of 170!

admittedly i haven't played a lot of DZ, but it was a bit late to try to re-equip so i just went with it. 

we played for about 45 mins and i had so many awesome drops! I even had to de construct some Golds to make room for better golds! didn't even bother with purples! very rare for me. 

The DZ was awesome, the guys worked well as a team ( after the extraction incident below i now realise they were on a private chat) and i just tried to avoid being killed and help out where I could. i took a couple of level ups and found the safe house. all great.

we finally decided to extract and went to the roof top on DZ 5 or 6? killed the mobs and called in the extraction. 

while crouching down in an extraction zone 5 seconds from coming in and no mobs around I wondered why one of the guys pulsed? just as I saw him raise his gun i hit my shield skill and started to run.

1 step later i was mown down with a grenade/shot gun combo.

1 then watched the 3 of them extract their gear and then pick mine up and extract it too.

Basically i had just spent 45 minutes being their mule or portable DZ gear slot which faithfully followed them around for extraction.

was i bitter. hell no. i had a great time and really was way under powered to even be in DZ06 in the 201+ . mobs and bosses were super tough but had a great time. I logged off after that and spent at LEAST an hour kicking myself for not realising the potential of what happened.

I was grouped with them for the entire 45 mins but I assume they would of had to kick me? cant remember it though.

one other thing i just thought of, before we went to the extraction zone we pooped into the safe house (i assume to restock), I got a bit lost so only had time to stick my head in before they were out and off running. I lost them until I re found them at the extraction point fighting mobs. so its not like they lured me in, they effectively left me at the safe house. it was me who chased them down. i could have left the group then and there.

I like to think it wasn't preplanned but I was obviously such a plump target at the extraction zone they couldn't help it

Haha live and learn, sounded like you had fun anyways.

Yeah, if you're kicked, just get the hell out of there. And if someone leaves the group, keep your distance. Even when you leave the group, do it from a safehouse ir go the distance towrds a checkpoint before you actually leave the group. Less tempting that way.

That said I've made the mistake of "joining" others in the DZ but not even grouping with them!! I just found myself with them working in the group.

This update has been awesome!  Our group is loving it.  We did the highest weekly HVT last night.  I forget the name of the boss butthe reward was a 240 chest piece.  We finish it and I'm rewarded with a god rolled 240 Lone Star chest piece.  It was 1539 armor a gear mod slot and a near max firearms score.  I was a good distance from the boss when he dropped.  My whole squad was already discussing what they got as I run up to it.  I get closer and I see he dropped two gear set items.  Everyone starts giving me sheet about it.  As I get to it and can see what they are I almost felt bad telling them.  It was a 240 Lone Star Backpack AND a 240 Lone Star Mask!  3 240 Lone Star pieces from one mission!  In two days of playing since the patch I've been able to get my character in full 204 weapons and  full 240 gear (Except 204 savage gloves).  I'm running 4 Lone Star pieces savage gloves and a 240 strikers god roll backpack.  In the DZ this setup is a PVP monster.  I run a 204 Aug that has 200K DPS with a secondary 204 Vector at 180K DPS.  With the 4 lonestar pieces I can carry 1793 rounds of SMG ammo.  Every time I kill an NPC I just switch weapons with the insta reload.  Its a friggin beast setup.  I'm at 74.9% armor and 349K toughness.  My electronics is lacking somewhat at 11K but I don't really need it.  We have a medic in our squad who is at a measly 110K DPS but has a toughness of 490K and skill at 24K with tacticians.  He hangs back and just shoots us with health all day long and revives if we need it.  He also tanks the supply drops.  

To say I am overly satisfied with this update is an understatement!!!!

That said, i have fond memories of the DZ on busy nights. With so many people milling about, solo and squads are not distinguishable. I could hang out helping others fight mobs as the extract.

Except this on time when a dozen agents started doing star jumps while facing the same direction like a flash aerobics mob.

That creeped out my parniod side, and i high tailed it out of there.
