How will death work in this game?

When you die, will you lose all of your gear? This game would be more rewarding imo if there were penalties when you died instead of just a reloading screen. Thanks for whoever answers my question

That is an excellent question... that I wish I knew the answer too. I do agree with you, there should be penalties, but I doubt you'll lose all your gear. Perhaps only the gear you have on you, and only if you die in the Dark Zone. Or perhaps you only drop the loot that you've found during that time you're in the Dark Zone, assuming you haven't had it extracted already.

​Hey again, after doing some research and seeing this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S0_3Ml9heY ) The girl in quotes that they will lose the gear if they die sometime about halfway through, and at the end you can see what happens for yourself if you havent seen the video already , it reminds me of a mixture between something like Ghost Recon Phantoms and DayZ in my opinion. Im glad theres some sort of penalty for death though or I feel like the game would turn into a team deathmatch style game where you just respawn and dont care about your characters life which would get old rather quickly.
