Hackers mad about Hackers

Just read an article on Game Rant about how Hackers are now so common in the game that  the veteran Hackers are complaining about How many Hackers are now in the game. Its a sad state of the game when Hackers are so prevalent that Hackers start complaining about it.  Massive/ubisoft needs to aggressively address this. They need an anti cheat system so badly. I don't see this game going much further if they don't fix the problem.  Just banning the people that cheat isn't doing the trick.

ugh... that kinda makes me chuckle a bit... its laughable. tbh, I rarley run into hackers... unless all the rogues who have killed me were hackers... which is possible as I am an unstoppable force.

I read the article too and they complained mostly about a free aimbot like cheat that is spreading like cancer at the moment. So the cheaters who paid for their cheats complain that cheaters who just downloaded a working aimbot for free can now kill them too. I kinda lol'ed too but at the same time thought the same as the OP thought.

Just for the record, it's things like this that keep the next update from having a release date yet. They know they have one more chance to fix whats wrong, and don't want to release or rush the next patch until they know it's going to fix a lot of whats wrong, including cheating/hacking.

" A lot is going into 1.2, we’re aware that it’s the last chance to really entice players (and show them we’re not retards)."

Just for the record, it's things like this that keep the next update from having a release date yet. They know they have one more chance to fix whats wrong, and don't want to release or rush the next patch until they know it's going to fix a lot of whats wrong, including cheating/hacking.

yeah, they made him delete his entire posting history over that line, but there's never been a more honest thing said by ANY game dev.

Yup, and I'm guessing thats why Ubi made him delete his account and post history lol. There's a thread in support of not punishing him on reddit right now...if I can find it again, I'll link it here with an edit.

This post has a lot to say about what they're doing, even outlining the steps they'll be taking when cheaters get caught. It goes on to describe their process for dealing with exploits as well, and that part alone is a MUST read...
