Golden Nuggets/Tips

I often think about what I should do next. What weapon should I get or craft. How can I push up my stats. Etc. some players on chat share their golden nuggets and when you hear a good tip and implement it it feels great. So I thought I would ask everyone to leave a tip here to make a really interesting thread.

I I will start. Pretty obvious but again some may not have seen the patch notes. Go to the crafting station and change all your green mats to blue and then all your blues to high end. At the moment the exchange rate is cheap. 5 blues for a high end. On 12th April the same transaction will be 15 blues for one high end. So farm fast and break down any stuff you prob won't use that's been gathering dust in your stash and change them up.

 Great post!

I'll share a lil' nug that has really helped in team play for my squad (especially in those Challening dailies) as well as Solo play. Carry a good high end weapon of every category, 1 Assault or SMG, 1 Sniper Rifle, 1 LMG, and 1 Shotgun. You never know what situation you're going to be in, especially in the dark zone, on top of that, you never know what this Incursion is going to bring to the table.

This has already been created ...

This should be pretty obvious, but my tip is "do not" stand around the extraction point looking at your inventory. You will have time to do that later in a safer place.  I have said this numerous times in group chat and I will say it again here, that is a good way to get dead.

Great idea!

  • Npcs have a fear of elevators, and can't seem to see past the door opening very well. If your squad is dying, or you're the only one left, hightail it into the nearest open one and kill from there.
  • Lmgs with +threat mods, high end extended mags, and incendiary ammo do amazing things in the field of crowd control.
  • Flank anything with heavy armor/health or a shield...they have a weak point....
  • Smg damage falls off QUICKLY over range. They're great secondaries, but sub-par primaries.
  • The shotgun Cassidy (available from the vendor in the b.o.o.) is a monster with the one is none perk and good aim at close range.
  • You can't hit an enemy if a squad member (or friendly npc) is in the way of the shot (more aimed at those that rush up and try to hug enemies...please get out of the way. Your dps, no matter how high, is not higher than you plus others).
  • Is someone already in a cover position you're thinking about moving into? Find another position, preferably with an entirely different angle of attack.
  • Elevated positions with cover are always better than being lower than or at level with your targets.
  • Threat/aggro is simple in this game...if you're doing the most damage, you have the most threat. You can shrug it off by holding your fire and allowing squad members to overtake you, or use it to funnel enemies/allow your squad to take better positions.
  • Use a mic at least when you team up for runs. Communicate, communicate, communicate. A few words can save a LOT of hassle.
  • Don't know what to do with credits, but have way too much? Buy blue or green items from b.o.o. vendors and decon for crafting mats. Consider your credits a "I only need a few yellow mats and I don't wanna farm right now" bank. Be aware that purchased blues/greens only decon to one mat each (which becomes the norm on April 12th for all decons).
  • Only need one or two phoenix credits? Madison Field Hospital on hard is a 10 minute or less solo run for decently/high geared players, with little fear of a hard time.
  • The shooting range in the b.o.o. is your best friend for testing weapon range/damage. Use it.
  • Never be afraid/embarrassed to fall back to a more defenseable position. Most enemies will follow you and gleefully bottleneck themselves.
  • Seeker mines are just great. Dropped on the spot they cover your retreat, thrown on or slightly behind a heavy they rarely get destroyed before detonation, they're the perfect "safe pull" for bringing enemies to your fallback point, and with the airburst mod, you have always have an incendiary grenade.
  • Radios playing something annoying can be turned off with a bullet. Most annoying lights can also be disabled, though only temporarily.
  • Russian Consulate: When first entering, jump behind the desk on the far wall, and search the wall to your left. There's a panel that disables the metal detectors, or just enter the next room from here and avoid them entirely. The panel will also disable the annoying noise if they're already triggered.
  • If the option presents itself, bring enemies to you, don't go to them.
  • Current room too dark to see clearly? Drop an incendiary grenade.
  • Remember that this is a cover shooter, not a Rambo simulator. Play accordingly for maximum benefit.
Most of these are common sense by now, but it never ceases to amaze me how many players seem to have no clue about most of them.

Some very good tips here. Although with the info released in the patch notes I would advise people not to spend there standard credits buying green and blue gear to deconstruct as the update will bring in the use of standard credits to roll high end gear to replace the use of pheonix credits

double edged sword atm.....on one hand, the material cost per recipe is lower now than it will be then, so making as much as you can now should be a priority. On the other hand, what you said is perfectly valid as well.

Maybe take the remaining days until the update and just run dailies, farm mats, and craft what your character(s) will need now or eventually. That's my plan anyway...might be tedious, but you'll thank yourself when the boards start filling with crafting complaints that don't affect you.

The only issue we have is not knowing how many standard credits will be required to roll high end gear, as you said both methods have advantages maybe a balance to both?
