the final measure gear in my opinion is what seperates the strong players (TANKS) from the weak players (SQUISHY). during 1.2 and the beginning of 1.3 the TANKTICIAN STICKY BOMB BUILD was the most O.P. build in the game until the EXTREME BUFF to the SHOTGUN came to the game. then this new SENTRY SHOTGUN BUILD came into rotation and completely took over and ruined the PvP side of the game and the reason i say ruined PvP is because when it comes to player vs player there is NO COUNTER for a SENTRY SHOTGUN BUILD because you cant out gun them because you get 2 shoted sometimes 1 shoted while full overhealed and yea this is a RPG game, that should NEVER happen. then on top of that since you only need a 4 PIECE SENTRY to make your SHOTGUN EXTREMELY O.P. all you have to do is throw on a 2 PIECE FINAL MEASURE and you completely counter the only thing you have a chance of stopping a SENTRY SHOTGUN BUILD let alone a group of 3 or 4 of them, which is the STICKY BOMB. so not only can you not kill them straight up with your gun but the sticky bomb is irrelavant against them to, then you throw in the smart cover, shock turrents, multiple flashbangs and the triage of the overdose. they become UNKILLABLE. they become more O.P. then the TANKTICIAN STICKY BOMB BUILD ever was. which leads to the whole conclusion of this post. in my opinion switching the FINAL MEASURE that gives you EXOTIC DAMAGE RESILIENCE from a 2 PIECE to a 3 PIECE would help balance out the game completely. i feel it would make it so there is some type of counter to this SENTRY SHOTGUN BUILD because if people still feel like rocking the 4 PIECE SENTRY, with this change it would make it so they arent complete tanks and there is some type of counter. the developers have already did so much to NERF the TANKTICIAN BUILD. the delay on the overdose, the 20% more bullet damage and of course the thing that makes them completely irrelavant, the 2 PIECE FINAL MEASURE. switching the FINAL MEASURE GEAR that gives you EXOTIC DAMAGE RESILIENCE from a 2 PIECE to a 3 PIECE will help balance out the game completely. this would be a big change but a necessary one because if the game keeps going like this the PvP side of the game will die eventually. either this change to final measure gear has to happen or the shotgun has to be nerfed in someway. this change cant be done alone. its going to take the community to come together and help spread word. if you agree then help make change, if you dont agree then you must be one of those people walking around with the sentry shotgun build completely joking everybody in the game. leave you opinions and thoughts below. really want to know what everyone else thinks. thank you.

I feel your pAin mate... Shotguns r destroying this game. I've got over 1000 rogue kills and have an amazing sentry sniper build. But my group of 4 can't compete with one shot shotguns.. A group of 3, destroyed us last night. And they were not even running pulse or head shotting us

 
Why not just fixed the shotgun+sentry build?   When something is broke, you fix the real problem, not something that doesn't relate to the problem directly which is what this dude is suggesting.    

 
As somebody who runs two-piece Final Measure in both my builds to survive Cleaners in the DZ, I don't favor making the best part of the FM gear require a 3rd piece, and I think, as some have already said, it is fixing the wrong problem.  The better change to me would be to change the Sentry set to need five pieces to capitalize on running a shotgun.

 
Why not use SG's against them. I see you said youre running a sniper/sentry build. So stay at distance with your m1a then use a SG as a secondary.  While the SG has got a huge boost in PvP, It can still be out gunned with smart tactics.

If youre going to make Striker/sentry 5 Piece for full bonus then bumping up FM to 3 piece for exotic isn't so bad.

 
that's why I said at the end of the paragraph they either need to do this change to final measure or NERF the shotgun in someway. both help the game when it comes to this build be cause you either fix the problem dead on or you create a counter for the build.

i agree that this would be a good change if they keep the shotgun how it is right now. at least there would be a counter because as of now they walking tanks especially when they are in a group of 3 or 4.

 
I'm not a fan of the FM nerf because I run 2x on my main with 2x LS and 2x AB (until I get 2 more AB pieces).  I just like the bonus to protect me from Cleaners when I go up against them.

I think a lot of people in this game get upset when they see a problem and the devs "fix" the problem by buffing or nerfing the wrong thing.  I agree with the comment that the shotty and sentry combo needs to be corrected.

To me it's not so much of nerfing shotguns as a whole, but nerfing the way shotgun works with sentry.   We need to stop nerfing guns so much.  I think the game is in a bad place as we have so many weak guns in the game.    Sentry intentions was to work best with a marksmen build and the game just needs to fix that.   

 
Here's an idea: instead of nerfing this or that why not put the PvP players into their own arena (like The Crucible in Destiny) and let them slug it out? OP shotties are only a problem in the DZ and during PvP. 

Stick 'em all together - far out of everyone else's way - and let the rest of us enjoy the game, away from the fear of being two-shotted when you've got a full bag of stuff to extract. Simples.

STOP nerfing/buffing things in PvP … level it utterly and make the Dark Zone servers a PvP “Competition” environment.

When you enter the DZ all your skills, damage output for weapons etc are CAPPED. Each player level zone (201+ etc) has its own maximum values for each skill and damage output.

Players can still bring and benefit from talents and skills as particular traits such as knockback for shotguns etc still work.

The Dark Zone NOW becomes more about player SKILL than spending hours farming specific gear to get the “flavour of the month” gear set just because the place is a pure arms race.  

Now you will have to focus on what skills to bring, how to BALANCE your build to maximise damage and resistance but also to give an edge to yourself in a fight by adding those talents and traits that offer something “different” to a combat such as cover bonus’, over-heals, staggering, incapacitating actions etc.

If Massive introduced this … recognised thing that other MMO’s do already to PvP Arena play … then they can buff and nerf PURELY on PvE values and stop 90% of player complaints.

 
Not a fan of making Final Measure a 3 piece. It's a vital 'go to' 2 piece for when you want a little more tankiness while sacrificing a bit of DPS. Making it 3 piece would break builds completely. EDR would get skipped all together then and it would become a useless stat. There simply aren't enough good 3 piece options to go with a 3 pc Final.

 
It is, of course, ultimately self-defeating to keep amending individual items or sets. The PvP player base will always, and rapidly, gravitate to the next item that either due to the recent changes or was always "just short of the best" has now become the Over-Powered item or set to build. 

Massive will nerf or amend, players will move to something else, that gets nerfed, players move to the next thing etc etc. 

If you commit to maintain a fluid, player-led PvP environment as Massive have thus far, then there will never be a break in that cycle. IF Massive thought that providing a fluid PvP environment which is player led would lead to variety then they've never played any MMO's ... so we have to consider this cycle is deliberate and further within the plan to "encourage" players to either partake in ALL areas of the game at ALL levels in order to be able to compete at the top level in PvP. 

I hold no judgement here. I choose to not visit the DZ and accept that because of that I'm unlikely to be able to progress my characters beyond a certain point and CERTAINLY won't be at a truly competitive level in PvP. If I walk into the DZ with the build I have...I'll be floored by 90% of players who choose to attack me...this is my choice though. 

 
Pvp is broken and will always be broken because the game was built for PVE first and then PVP second.   Which is dumb in a sense since it's an online only game.  They should have built the game geared for PVP first.

Another note, the reason why  people take the PVP so hard is because no one likes getting their loot taken that they have earned or found.   But in retrospect, doesnt really matter since 90% of all gear/guns are garbage?   Let that marinate, is their any truly worthwhile gear in the game that puts your build over the top?  Yeah maybe sentry + shotgun, but that's more of a fundamental flaw that will get patched.   U can look at almost every gun in the game and either scrap it or sell it.   

I was on a manhunt recently and died.  I dropped a 268 gear set, and about 8 yellows.  Some 229s, 204s, but I didn't care because it was nothing in there that was going to enhance my build because they have watered down so much.   So what I lost a 229 sawed off and 229 LMG.   I actually cared more about the lost keys and xp.   To me the game is a big joke and it don't have to be.   I play for the fun at this point.   The dev's dropped the ball and it's clear they really didn't have a plan or solid blueprint with this game.    I got a 229 Firstwave vector and stashed it.   Same with my 229 Aug.   That shouldn't be the case.   I was so bored with the redundant loot drops, and pathetic weak guns, I dismantled everything in my little yellow bag and went on a manhunt.  Sure I died, and lost massive xp.   But it was a lot more fun than extracting whatever garbage was in my yellow bag I can tell u that.

^i totally agree. I haven't played in a couple of weeks, hoping my 34th birthday brings some fun back to the game (aug 2nd/ps4 UG release date), but I'm not holding my breath. I bought the season pass, so I will give UG a shot, but from everything I've read from the mustard ricers and Xbones, the DLC will lose its luster quickly...which is a great Segway into Aug 9, when No Man's Sky Drops. 

I wish game game had a dedicated PvP like Destiny or most FPS games, where it's the player that makes the difference, not the gear
