Hi,

Just got a question about looking at gear before equipping it shows a different number than when its equipped.  Like for instance i have a set of firearms 240 lonestar gloves.  When i highlight it(before equipping it) my dps shows like 168k dps but when i equip it goes all the way to 203k.  I mean its a good thing but bad as well because it also does it with the vendors. Ill highligbt the vendors gear before buying and my dps shows higher than what i have equipped.  But when i buy it and the equip it its lower than what it showed at the vendor. I dont get it.  Its bappened alot to me and it only seems to happen with dps. Any help or insight would be great.

Before equipping it won't show a true value due to your passive buff's you may or may not have active from your weapons. For example if you have talents on a gear piece that boosts damage. In your example Lone Star will boost LMG & Shotgun damage if you have enough pieces equipped at the same time.

This is why you tend to read people complaining that they either 1) Do "hardly any damage" to players or 2) "I get taken down so fast by Rogues"  ... they don't look at their passive gear and weapon buffs that add DPM, critical hit chances, damage resistances etc and they often mean the difference between sucking or ruling.

This game has RPG Meta. Learn it and you will be king.
