Division Tech and Optimization

First Optimization is way cool - however...

Gaining DT seems still confined to the DZ - I thought it was to be generally available with drop 1.8. (yes, I know about deconstructing...)

50 per optimization attempt - with the lack of DT availability - way expensive.  For me - I need about 3 to 5 "optimizations" to max a piece of gear or weapon.  Given you have 9 slots (3*9*50) that's 1350  (to 2250!) DT for one loadout -  I have 6 of those....  And 4 chars....

The good news is it seems the rogues have moved to skirmishes - yeah for me! So running the DZ is not as frustrating.

Legendaries are the next best option.

The missions in the Westside Pier LZ should give 3 dt. Not as fast and more limited than going into the dz.

[Edit: plus events ir whatever theyre call, e.g. so many headshits etal, also provide dt. So you could keep running those. Not sure how time effective tho]

I haven't tried the 1.8 Resistance, Skirmish and Underground. However they supposedly reward dt.

My favorite (quick and easy) spots in the dz is east dz8,3+3. Park Ave dz8 (left), 3+3+1+1. East dz5, 3+1 north 4 + 3 south. East dz6, 3

[Edit: there are farming routes, these are just fav in and out spots since i solo]

Legendaries are the best in PvE.  30 odd D-Tech per box.  West Side Piers give very little (one per cache IIRC) and the Resistance missions have a few boxes around which give 3 or so of blue / gold D-Tech.

Deconstruct, legendaries, create Damascus and deconstruct it is what I am doing currently.

DZ is the better option for getting div tech, its all over the place, be it green purple or gold caches, on the ground... extracted gear can be deconstructed for DT.  How long does it take to complete a legendary? i could pick up the same amount of DT in half the time, easy.

How long is a piece of string. One day, it took my pug nearly 2 hours but next day another pick up, we did two Legendaries in half an hour.

Overall DZ is more time effective. Getting a good group dz /pve is significant and plus what rocks your boat between pvp & pve.

I solo, so the dz has it's own temperament. So sometimes it's hard and the caches may have been taken already. Legendary you wait for group, then the said group sux dog's balls etc.. Ultimately ymmv.

But I don't mind the rabbit run to get the div tech.

I have been running the DZ.  The drops are common and I gathered 60 in about 2 hours.  That is not bad, but the rogues seem to be coming back.  Got jumped by a team at extraction.  I also solo mostly so team rogue always wins.

50 per optimize is still to much or they need to drop in the light  :12_slight_smile:

Totally , makes sense to do it all really ...

TBH, I do not mind the 50 per optimise cycle as it stops people getting fully optimised too quickly and then having little to work for.  I usually get one or two cycles out per night but I need to be smarter on which gar to keep.

It seems each cycle only gives around 8 or so points to stats but better jumps on talents for the weapons.  I now go for items I have or can calibrate to higher skill points and armour than up rolling a talent as the optimisation will do that pretty quickly on a few rolls.

Doesn't always work (crap talents etc) but gets the gear up there with less cycles.
