DZ Division Tech Farming

Oh. daesu

agent provocateur
Been sticking my toe back into the DZ.

But, I tell you what, DZ8 is easy for Division Tech. You just come through Park Ave head a few blocks towards DZ9. In the builds and one alley. Double back towards the boundry and head towards DZ 7.

I am really amazed that you only get 1 per case and I have got between 5 & 7 per cache extracted.  I hope they do not go above 50 for recalibration as it will take quite a long time to be able to use it.  Saying that, I have no idea how they will cope with the people with 2-3k Div tech already like me.  Maybe give he players a month or two to burn it away and then drop another gearset tier  :74_japanese_goblin: .

Ah, touches on so many Qs.

Well, Classified is a defacto gs. But we haven't had a tier increase. I'm not sure of the level of difficulty of West Side Pier, whether it is effectively higher compared to Legendary/Heroics. They could just rebrand that as a new tier.

Let's face it, for Legendary mission to fail something has to go awry. That's because most peeps gear is good. So, the new Classified just makes it easier. Too easy.  Where's the challenge?

Not taking part with the pts, I haven't seen Optimization outside of vids. It made it look gs# were nolonger tiered but fluid based on quality. The cap was 282 or 286?

Plus not clear if Classified can be optimized.  But seems we can grind for gear or grind for DTech to upgrade our old pieces, tho it looked e($.$)pensive.

Guess the next gs# is just raising the cap. This release is just free content, which is pretty special. I can't see more without a dlc. So how to increase difficulty, which I reckon we'll soon be screaming for as every turns into a cake walk.

So, maybe find away to bump the tier and modes without new content. Maybe smeak in a small bit of content.

But this fluid gs# with a player choice to balance grinding for gear vs  spending DT will change things.

WSP (in PTS 1.8 Wk1) was like LZ but with the possibility of 2-3 mobs coming at you in the same place from different sides.  More of a flooding than bumping in to a couple of people on the street.  The only difficulty is with volume of AI and getting surrounded (lack of cover from all angles).  It is nowhere near Legendary.  Closer to DZ 8&9 I would say but more at once.

Yep, there are now small bumps in GS with optimisation.  Yes it works on Classified unless they change it from the current PTS version.

I find Legendary still gets wipes but usually due to run and gunners or disconnects.  Bad team diveristy also can cause issuer (3 sentries call in Warrengate for example).

Too easy is really too boring.  I did all the HVTs for daily and weekly this morning and apart from the single shot ones (die and pay again),  They were not much of a problem.  The search and destroy are not just a bit embarrassing for the AI as they pretty much have no chance.

The problem they have, which they have acknoledged in SoTG, is that there are people who can just fully optimise their gear from day one as they have 2-3k DT and if they try to limit that but upping the requirements per optimisation cycle then people with little DT will have to grind for a long time to even get a single optimisation.  The only other way I can see is to help bring the rest of the player base up by bigger DT drops and then up the DT requirement but that sorta craps on those who have been working hard and saving it up for so long....

Yeah, I think you're right. So, that means, those who have DTec stacking up all this time get op'ed. The solution is with increasing the DTec supply so new players can catch up means the leveling playing field is to be op'ed.

Op-ville!

I guess they will need to lift the difficultly. Though the optimization leaves the door open to incremental increases to gs cap, as opposed to the big occasion gs tier jump.

Of course the ACTUAL solution is to just accept publicly that players who've got DT stacked up will be able to maximise their gear within the first day and leave things as they are but there are ways to make this better!

Example: World of Warcraft has thousands of players running at maximum optimisation and max level with their gear and builds. Blizzard brings out an expansion which increases max level. It's well known that there's a good chunk of players who will get the expansion DLC and within a few hours be max level again!!

Do you hear much nagging about it? Not really no, and there are three key reasons for this:

1) New Gear

2) Variety of activities

3) More story/Lore

With patch 1.8 essentially the max level is being increased...BUT... we get only a handful of new items, no real new gear at all and virtually no story or additional Lore.

What The Division lacks is a commitment to its genre. Its always tried to be part MMORPG, part Loot-shooter but its always been story "lite". They really should have worked on expanding the lore and story with the opening of the WSP. Three story missions for example perhaps? I hear there are more echoes which is a good thing but I don't feel it engages people enough.

Of course the game is a victim of its own demographic schizophrenia as players wanting the looter shooter game power through story and pretty much ignore it (then complain they've finished the game of course) and more dedicated RPG players find the story shallow and over too soon - in short the game's never really been set up for a community like other MMORPG's. The LZ isn't a fully open world where you can bump into the any other player for example (like in WoW) and the social areas don't have joint quests players can randomly run (like Destiny).

So I think at the moment it might be helpful if Massive explained that the game won't be able to cater for everyone, that some players will absolutely have a head start because...they put the hours in...I'm a casual gamer myself and whilst I can see similar players feeling left out because they see other players rocket ahead initially, I also appreciate that players who've worked hard hours for that ability should benefit from the grind they've done. I really wouldn't want to belittle their achievements.
