Building a balanced build vs a specific build

Shoot 1st Ask Questions Later
Been playing since day one now and am at LVL 30 and DZ LVL 48. I am trying to figure out if it makes more sense to have a character whose is generally well balanced on all three skills (DPS, Stamina, Electronics) or if I should start leaning towards just a one sided build. I am looking for opinions and suggestions. Thanks!

I just recently got my 3 stats right around 2000, but I feel weaker. If I was going to change my balanced build I think I would just drop all electronics and focus everything into firearms and stamina. Maybe just have a set of armor for each? I think I'm going to try that out actually haha. Thanks for inciting the thought

I have begun feeling the same way that its time to stop worrying much about electronics right now and focus on Armor, Stamina, and DPS as in the DZ those seem to be the most important things.

I favor health over all others, but am very mindful of DPS since I don't exactly stay in cover long, if at all. Other than cool down time and how long a skill stays active, I think electronics is pretty much worthless. I hate that weapons have talents attached to electronics rating though.

The only real reason that I even bother with the electronics side is so that I can have all three of my weapon talents active. Otherwise I wouldn't even care too much about electronics.

I agree at this point, having everything at at least 1889 unlocks all my gun talents which is nice

I personally like my balanced build. I have enough health to avoid getting nuked, do enough damage to take down rouges with relative ease, and enough skill power so my skills (buffs) are relevant and returns quicker.

I find it works well in PvE settings too.

To give you some perspective, I am at  roughly 140K DPS, 58K Health, and 24K Skill Power.

After a few days of tinkering, Ive come to the conclusion that no matter how high I make my DPS, the kills still feel like they take the same amount of TIME. I stopped paying attention to bullet count and started counting seconds. I'm not one to use cover much, so I noticed when I shoot in the open, I can shoot an entire 60 round clip into a NPC's head, and it will simply take down his shield. But my health would be damn near flatline. So I dropped my DPS down to 108k and my health up to 88k (at 62.5% armor mitigation) and I can still take down their shield with the same clip, but I'm nowhere near flatline.

This has got me thinking that DPS really impacts non elite NPCs than the elites. Meaning, attachment, mod, and gear attributes play a bigger role in taking down enemies rather than the actual dmg rating of the weapon.

Did any of this make sense? lol

This may be a stupid question, but I will proceed anyway so I know I am not wasting my time....

Is it possible to unlock all three talents, no matter the guns/ talents?

A bit of background: currently running Black Market AK 74 and Vector from the advanced weapon vendor blueprints. I've tested many others, but I always come back to these 2.  I have high end equipment across the board including mods(Only 4 out of 6 pieces have mod slots and only one mod slot each). However, with my current set up I can never seem to get my firearms, stamina, and electronics high enough across the board to have all talents unlocked for both guns.  My hope is that getting the high end equipment from the DZ06 special vendor  and rolling additional mod slots will bring them up to the required levels once equipped.  At the moment I am only 33 in the DZ, having just come across the additional vendors in these forums the past day or so. Most of my time has been spent stacking phoenix credits from challenging missions over and over and over. Should I keep up hope that once I can purchase these at 50 all requirements can be met with the right tweaking?

I crafted a HE Aug the other day  at max base damage with 3 kickass perks all but 1 was active because of my electronics Being to low. I had to reach 1300 electronics to make it available so I crafted a electronics mask with 2 mods slots. So to make a long story short, I'm at 2020 firearms, 2500 stamina and 1305 electronics and I'm elated on the outcome of my firepower I dish out and the lack of punishment I receive from mobs and other players.  I to believe is all in the mods you craft for your weapon

Electronics skill actually give you crit chance and damage in pulse and alot more health on first aid, making it a pretty important stat in some PVP builds

I think it's definitely possible, perhaps the difficulty is getting those damn near perfect rolls on your gear to.

On another note, I'm looking to gear specifically for electronics as well or maybe even go full tank. I saw a clip of a guy who I'm assuming has pretty maxed out electronics... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=047Bdr0LeA0&feature=youtu.be

Yes this is indeed possible with a balanced build. I have all three talents unlocked on my Pakhan and Vector with a fairly balanced build. I don't have access to my character right now, but it's roughly 2300/2800/1900.

How hard this is to achieve depends on the gear you have. I was able to achieve this mainly by crafting a bunch of HE level 31 Electronics mods.

I'm definitely going on a more balanced build personally, but I'm not that experienced so for the moment i just go with what my guns require mostly...

So for the DPS side of this I use the true DPS calculator that is linked in these forums to give me an idea of my "true" DPS and then I build around my weapon "buffs" next (weapon skills or talents) and lastly try to maximize my skill tree for the exact reasons listed above (i.e. electronics boosts skills, health . . .duhhh health, and then the firearms for increased . . .well what ever that does).  I don't know if this is the correct stack rank though and would be keen to know how you boys rate them.

As it stands right now I've decided to go to a more 2 sided build in firearms and stamina. Resulting in about 140k dps and around 65-70k of health. It seems to be doing fairly well in both PVP and PVE encounters. My skill power is hovering around 11k. I am hoping to get a good drop or good roll on a HE mask or backpack to boost that a little higher.

Michfan here is my build.

I still get beat down pretty bad by supposedly higher end builds.  Btw i do run with friends 1 semi bruiser like i and 1 mp5 crit build.  I have farmed for days so please if anyone can send me a link or a better build on how to get higher end loot please do SHARE.  Im tired of getting shredded or being 3 or 4 shotted.
