Alpha Bridge Builds

Oh. daesu

I tried Alpha Bridge build with shotties. Showstopper and M870. Which is fun and challenging. Though, challenging is not necessarily recommended. You can get yourself in real difficult circumstances when soloing. Espcially HVT and S&D when the mobs have the numbers and space to flank you when you're trying to get close. When the numbers are small, you can insert yourself and down them all quick and nasty like. Not much luck in the DZ against rogues. Though, my build really needed to be harder for that. Running missions works well. You have a team, so specialising getting close is viable, and stagger is its own CC for yur team chance to take them out. Last part of Lincoln Tunnel is long trek with a sniper and lmg hating you all the way. And the last part of the Russian Consulate is messy (you won't see that turrent that kills you). But the rest is a case of jack be nibble jack be quick. I'd never take it into an incursion tho.

Fleetingly, I tried Alpha Bridge with LMG. Not so good. Had a hungry hog, but that was 204. So, stopped running with LMG pretty quick. Maybe better LMGs.

Alpha Bridge + ARs. Ok, this works  :4_joy:  My selection of ARs was ok, not the favs. No LVOA-C or even a M4 on this toon. And, I have to check the open talents, but really that could do with some work, but with 1.5 looming I don't want to spend any PCs. Tried a Caduceus + Military P416. Caduceus talents are not super, but as primary it has the base dmg, and gets some better talents off the P416. I think if you optimised this one would really rock.

So, the build I'm hearing works well with alpha bridge is smg.

Anyone tried the smg?

Here's what my AB toon runs:

AR: 204 tach MK16 w/ vicious/brutal/destructive and 204 LVOA-C with swift/deadly/fierce (I HIGHLY recommend this combo)

SMGs: 229 PP-19 with destructive/sustained/hurried and either 229 MP5-ST with stable/accurate/brutal or 204 AUG with self-preserved/stable/deadly

LMGs: tach M249 with balanced/vicious/commanding and 204 M60 with balanced (duplicate, not active)/swift/brutal

I LOVE the ARs, despite them being 204s, and I have yet to find a 229 combo that I could buy or that would drop that would rival them.  The MK16 is almost laser accurate and hits pretty well and the LVOA-C makes a great roided-out SMG if someone gets close.  The SMGs are a really close second and work great when plaing CQB, like in UG.  LMGs are my last resort when I run out of ammo for the ARs and SMGs.  I don't think that I have any shottys on this toon, because I used to have the 4x LS tri-shotty build that I ran.  If you're looking for a all-shotty build, go with LS.  Having the extra ammo and taking like 2-3 sec to swap weapons and then being able to pretty much keep the pedal down is awesome.  I never got a Showstopper, but the M870/sausage combo works pretty well.

Yeah, I go to work some smgs together and try it then. Sounds cool. Even with 1.5 might take sometime to get 256, so still time to play.

Having some backups (SMGs, LMGs or shottys) is essential in UG, unless you're running LS as a 2 pc or someone is running ammo support station.  When you're playing the harder difficulties where ammo is scarce, I find myself having to swap weapon sets until I find an ammo box.

With the new Ai ammo becomes an issue even in LZ missions like HVT etc when running AB .. however ... I've managed to mitigate some of this by ensuring I reroll with +58% ammo capacity when I can. This has my AR ammunition load vary between 1,300-1,700 rounds which is usually enough for except the longest engagements. I'll get my stats on the forums later, I'm only part way through rebuild in 1.5 and moving from 229-256 but might give some ideas.

Got a tactical MK16 last night when my 3rd toon that I'm probably going to try and adjust for my 1st toon.  Not sure how well it will play out compared to the God roll on his 204 MK16, but I'm hoping that it will have some benefits to the toon.
