Played for about 2 hrs and only moved the needle from 229 to 232
yeah, I'm still stuck at 250 even after the hours i've put in as I'm struggling to get gear to drop to cover just two slots of 229 I still have.

I made the mistake last night of "tinkering" too much .... I wanted a little more Electronics ... ended up boosting my Toughness quite a bit (380k) and Electronics a little (120k) but loosing a huge chunk of DPS which for some reason I can't get back!! (now down to 280k). I just don't have the gear sets to keep my Toughness at 320k and my DPS about the same but kick my Electronics to 120k.

I spent far too long last night shaking my head but I may have to move away from Gear Sets completely for a while and just run with a mix of HE gear and forgo the special talents.

some assorted weapons that I can't use until I upgrade my gear
Requirements for 256 weapons seem to be a bit up and down. I've managed to get a few with unlockable talents at quite low requirements. That said, my two mains are both BOUGHT from vendors! (Advanced Weapon vendor in BoO - Lightweight M4 & FAMAS from Meatlocker)

I definitely have to look into some weapons for the toon I was running, but Marcus has a military G36 that's at about 220k DPS and a paratrooper SVD that's at like 275K, so for a reclaimer support toon he's not doing too bad (especially at 232).

Remember to sell unwanted items and buy vendor caches (cycle until you have got your desired items or are down to the min credits you want in your wallet).   Vendor caches are a good way to get pxc now.  One or two challenging runs should get you enough trash for a few caches and at WT5 you can get up to around 25 (or 30 ??) pxc per cache plus pxc for doing the runs (80 for Lexington on Challenging).

Take the pxc you gained from the vendor caches and buy Specialist items or caches.

The quality of loot from the pxc caches are not any better just targeted depending on the cache you choose to buy (gear / mods / weapons / gearset).

Headshot Dmg, ammo, rate of fire all boost DPS (on paper) pretty significantly.  Practical DPS is no respecter of paper DPS though.  My Mk17 has a paper DPS of 475k.

The Scar variants of Marksman rifles are fairly good now.  I use my MK17 more like a battle rifle sometimes (if bored).

One other advantage is that if other players are killing the bad guys too quickly with ARs, you can down them once your team mates have burnt through the armour with a well placed marksman rifle shot than they can most of the time.  This means you can get to prop those weapon bonuses without having to be lucky to get the killing bullet in there.  A bit sneeky but sometimes there is no other way with bullet happy randoms  :10_wink: .
