Good day, agents.

After taking some time to get to grips with the game's UI and gameplay style, I've started to take a keen eye for sniping (with the M700 Carbon) and handling close-to-mid range targets with an AR (typically the SCAR-L, or the Classic M1A (or any other variant of the M1A)). If the M1A isn`t working, I would typically switch to the MP5. Can you recommend any snipers or ARs aside from those two? Maybe just going through my loot consistently and switching up my weapons for higher DPS could help, but does the Recalibration station work well?

On another topic, I've had some unfortunate luck in the DZ, too. I'm only a GS248, but that shouldn't be too great of a difference from GS256, right? I didn't have any many talents or attributes unlocked at that time, so maybe they might help.

Back on the subject of gear sets, I have looked through what is available, and I must admit that there are more options than I thought. Anyway, I have been looking into the DeadEYE and Banshee sets. Do you think they would work well with the Sniper (M700 Carbon/SRS A1/whatever) and the AR (SCAR-L Variants, etc) or SMG application?

Please leave feedback and thoughts below, I would love to discuss this!

If you use your AR for closer work then the LVOA-C is the one and only one you should consider with perhaps the FAMAS a close 2nd. The Rate of fire on the LVOA-C is shocking!

G36 Enhanced is a very stable gun as well and really accurate but more suited to longer engagements because of that.

You need to really start gathering gear to make sure you unlock weapon talents as they REALLY give a huge boost.

A sniper build isn't very effective in the Dark Zone now. People are running toughness loaded AlphaBridge builds in the DZ from what I'm told and the run-and-gun engagement method is back again. If you run a bolt action sniper based build chances are they'll just soak damage and burst off Tach link and run you down using a fast RoF AR build with high armour damage buffs.

Sniper plus AR is an excellent PvE / Incursion build however, especially with DeadEYE.

PvE and Incursion build, eh? Well, I suppose that's where I'm going to be doing a lot of my work anyway. So far, the DZ has been a bit of a sh*t hole, as the last time I stepped foot in there, could have sworn it was clear, then BAM! 4-man team chasing someone else, and I'm dragged into the fray. :<

Yeah, especially when you suit up in Banshee and lose a good part of the benefits when you eventually die as a rogue. Though, you might get more by then.

Tho, I've had a team that kept going for another team who could own us each time lol. Hello to solo play in Banshee heh

Dark Zone is currently ... broken ... BUT a task force is being put together to start work EXCLUSIVELY on Dark Zone PvP balancing and mechanics during January-March I believe (trying to remember the State of the Game announcement) ready for patch 1.6

Awesome, thanks guys. It's nice to hear that the DZ is going to be getting fixed. I'm looking forward to slowly working my way up to DZLVL 30 with a team, since it's pretty clear that I won't be able to run the DZ alone

So, I've heard no mention about the DeadEYE gearset; does anyone think it's worth pursuing?
DeadEYE is good for a build totally focused on the sniper weapon. It doesn't really buff any other method of damage that gives you any bonus's to your secondary so its very specialist. As I said above its good for some incursions and most PvE, certainly if running with a known group. Unfortunately a specialist sniper build suffers in some Incursions/Missions as the other team members will out DPS you very significantly BUT you can still add good shots to help.

Strikers is by far are more utilitarian "sniper" set and suits using a DMR such as a SCAR-H but it also helps with any secondary weapon as the bonus's it gives are more generic. Certainly, as a Sniper, the 4pc talent is really good (assuming you can keep hitting targets).

I, myself, might toy with a Predators Mark set as an alternative to AlphaBridge soon.

I was going to suggest this.  Possibly go with 4x AB and 2x LS for the extra ammo.  If, however, you can get 1-2 pieces with bonus ammo on them you'll probably be at like +90-100% ammo so you can drop the 2x LS.  If you can avoid LS, go with 2x PM (+10% reload speed), 2x Sentry (+30 increased aimed accuracy), 2x Striker (+20% stability).

With the AB build, make sure you get any secondary DMR that has 3 talents you like that aren't on your primary sniper so you get the benefits of 6 talents.  As for a primary, I'm partial to semi-auto that I can hipfire if everything goes to crap.  My personal suggestions are paratrooper SVD or police MK17.

Quinch, I am currently running a 4x predator mark set with 2 He pieces.  toughness is around 440k and I'm using Lightweight M4 and MP5 combo (sometimes pakhan lmg) and it really does well on NPC's in PVE.

If you like the LWM4, you should pick up the LVOA-C at the Special Weapons Vendor, very good set of talents, handles about the same as the LWM4 and it usually hits harder than the LWM4.

Actually before patch 1.5 and Survival I ran 3 parts DE but was looking at HF when using a Sniper Build and notice they are the same but different but it depends on how you want to play it as over watch in group or solo

Well, as far as that goes, I'm ideally looking at having two builds. One for Overwatch and one for Solo. Best recommendations for those two?
