On the main screen of the game, during game play, there is a new icon. It looks like a red badge looking icon, in red.

Any idea what it could be? It is under the grenade icon.

Hmm, thanks. I'll double check my inventory this evening; albeit, I think I still have 8 free spaces.

In addition, in relation to The Division, what is 'buffs'? Sorry, still learning all the terms, and such...

In addition, in relation to The Division, what is 'buffs'? Sorry, still learning all the terms, and such...
Often a term relating and used in MMORPG's (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). It relates most often to a skill or item that enhances (on a temporary or permanent bases) the base-line statistics of another item or even a character directly.

For example the Scanner skill is a classic MMORPG "Buff". It's an AoE (Area of Effect) low level buff that grants a critical hit chance boost of 40% and a critical hit damage bonus of 100% of base for everyone hitting the marked targets. This is a temporary buff.

Likewise, mods for weapons such as magazines, silencers etc etc offer similar buffs for various damage output stats but are permanent as long as equipped on the weapon being used. They are local and apply only to the item being used though (Not AoE).

With reference to the term "buff" in patch notes etc it usually means an adjustment of statistics within the game itself that increase or generally improve those stats and performance of the item, skill etc.

And just to add, when I have a 4pc firecrest, it shows there as well, since I get a buff against burning targets.

And if you have a 4pc Hunters Faith and you proc the 4th talent with armour protection, I think.. haven't seen, but I think it shows as a green shield there. And I have see things showing there which i presume are buffs for so many seconds of some other talents. Sorry, not that observant. The usual appear when you're kind-of-buzy  :10_wink:
