DZ Player Bracket

I am currently GS 220 and for some reason when I go into the DZ, it is placing me in the 231+ bracket. Wouldn't that suggest I have a GS score of 231+? Maybe I'm missing something here...

The DZ Gear Score is not based off of what your GS is next to your name. It takes into account all of your gear in your inventory, stash, and your primary weapon. So if you have a decent amount of 240/268 gear but you're just not using it then that is why you are finding yourself in the 231+ bracket.

Wow. So based off all the crappy gear sets I have that don't work for me or my playstyle, I now don't last with even the weakest of enemies in the DZ. I have an armor mitigation of 73.5 and About 79k health and I'm getting slaughtered in the DZ.

Suggestion - hit the underground, you'll love it.

Had this same problem this afternoon, but it must be a bug or because I matchmade.  I'm at 220 and I don't have any weapons over 204 or gear over 240 (inventory & stash), so the highest I could be with my highest GS gear is 228.

Quinch I wish I could hit the underground but I'm on PS4. Another month to go. This is very discouraging.
So out of sensitivity. We should make an effort and comment quietly.

You have 2 options:

- Sell the crap in your Stash, exit DZ, logout

or

- Create a new character, play until you find BoO, put the items in the character's backpack

My friends were 207 and 213. Guess what? They were bloated and put in DZ 231+. I told them this and it worked.

Ehh...5.8 Mediocre doesn't fill me with confidence. I'll wait and see though, not buying the expansion for PC as well.

And yeah, like supercat said, just stash whatever you don't want with another character.  Hopefully someday we'll be allowed to see that magical gear score that determines our bracket.  Since, ya know, it's the gear score that actually means something.

The GS used for DZ was made that way as people were artificially lowering their GS to get in to lower GS brackets with high power gear and owning the farming routes with lower level bosses.  I would imagine they were also causing a fair bit of nerd rage with people using lower level agents legitimately in that DZ bracket trying to level their DZ rank and gear up.  Check the State of the Game videos and they explain how it is calculated (sorry, not sure which one).  A number of us were suggesting the 'most powerful weapon only' was used for the DZ GS and luckily it made it in there (stops people carrying a 00 GS pistol and / or secondary to lower the score).  Not that our shouts in the wilderness were likely to have anything to do with the actual change of course :12_slight_smile: .

The Underground is initially great especially with the flood of stashes giving decent GS items (note, not the same as decent items) as you power up to level 10.  Longevity wise we will have to wait and see.  I can see it becoming quite repetitive and after the initial flood of stashes fizzles out as it takes longer to level, you need to do Heroic missions for top end gear which will take players without regular teams back to matchmaking and all the issues that can provide.  Saying that I met another guy last night in the Lexington mission and we spent a fair amount of time in the Underground with various others and worked quite well together.

All it takes is an evening with a solid group of 4 to farm the DZ 4/5/6 areas and you should find enough gear from boss drops and supply drops to make yourself a better agent with gear to fight the higher lvl NPCs.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, decided to look up some videos and found that HVT mission almost guarantee new higher ranked gear. Figured I'd stop whining and man up and rank up. So there's a third option I guess.

This.

DeadSockPuppet and I played for a bit yesterday afternoon, just running light zone stuff, and discussed how difficult the new DZ would be. We both logged out, and I logged back in later on only to join a couple of friends in DZ 231+, running dz5&6. I got so many new things, I haven't even had a chance to look at it all!

...DSP, next time we're on together, we gotta check out DZ!

I agree. At least until the underground does come out on PS4.

Yep. That's my other alternative to whining and complaining!?

Makes me even more anxious for the release of the underground to PS4.

Well I wouldn't mind joining you guys if you have the room. Add me: GZEE on PSN.

Btw, deadsockpuppet, I was in S7 clan with you. I knew your GT looked familiar. Add me as well.

If there's room, anyone who isn't a COMPLETE ass is more than welcome to join. Partial asses are perfectly fine!
