According to the June 23rd State of the Game, PS4’s 1.3 patch will be delayed and not releasing on Tuesday June 28th.  Hamish did say that it would be releasing as soon as possible, but no actual date was stated.  In the past when something Client-side was delayed, they’ve shown to do a very good job of getting patches out very quickly, so I would venture to say that there’s a high likelihood that PS4 players will still get the patch sometime next week.  Let’s hope so

Why the delay? I can't help but feel PS4 owners are getting the rough end of a shitty stick. Poor show guys. Really poor show.

They didn't go into detail, but do keep in mind that it's not like there's someone at Ubisoft/Massive that's like, "I hate PS4.  Let's not give them their patch the day we said we would."  What it comes down to is that the product still has some faults in it and they didn't want to release it with those faults.  As disappointed as I am to not get the update on Tuesday, I'd much prefer to get content that works on June 29th rather than content that doesn't work on June 28th.  Not to say it's releasing on June 29th, but I really only see the delay lasting one week AT THE MOST.. but I feel like they'll have the patch out in less than a week.

I would guess that since they've committed to XB1 & PC 1 month early for DLC, QA is probably focusing all of their efforts to make sure the XB1 & PC DLC and patch work 1st, then they'll move on to PS4.

They've had a rough go with the game release and past patches so I'd think that with the release of the first paid content they'd want a smooth transition and everything to work as bug-free as possible.  I'm fine with XB1 & PC being Guinea pigs, I just hope that when they release the DLC for PS4 that any bugs found on XB1 & PC get fixed in the PS4 release before it drops.

Surprised PC isn't gettin delayed as well. They looovvveee supporting Xbox One before all else.

I will explain from my 2nd hand experience in getting a patch for a cross platform game onto the PSN.

Sony take security and compatibility checks VERY seriously in the last few years (remember when PSN was hacked?). In previous games (mainly cross platform with PC the main driving media) Sony have dug their heels in and insisted on more detailed cooperative testing of games than Microsoft.

Equate if you will that Sony is "Apple" and Microsoft is "Android". Sony don't run a version of a Windows OS directly, where as Xbox & PC obviously do so testing for vital security weaknesses takes longer and .. Sony ... don't rush.

Remember that these tests aren't gameplay ones...just compatibility and security.

I don't remember if PC was always supposed to be with XB1 on DLC, but I think Massive is giving them the DLC early to try and appease all the rampant cheating and to try and get back some of them, since 93% of PC players have stopped playing the game.

Hmmm that is a big possibility. Throw us new content to make us feel better about our hacker woes

My friend just came back to his game 2 weeks ago on PC and said he couldn't even find someone in Matchmaking  :15_yum:

Not only that, the price rate of pre-owned PS4 copy of The Division in my town has been significantly dropped for a 3-month old ground-breaking game. The community and market don't lie that this game took a free fall to the deep abyss of death.  :4_joy:

One of my friends said he heard the ETA on the PS4 patch is 1 month late, so around when the DLC drops.  I haven't confirmed this, but since the patch is basically prep for the first paid DLC, it seems to make sense they'd take the extra month to get it right.

Of course, the patch is supposed to fix some frustrating things from 1.2 (i.e. DZ chests and yellow HE caches) and give us the Showstopper (AA-12 shotty) and a new gear set, so we'll just have to wait.  I don't run a lot of DZ since 1.2 and my shotty rusher is only at lvl 15, so I've got some time now to get things together.

Oooh, time for me to start playing on PC a bit more...Dark Zone here I come!!! :-P

Believe it.... come to the Dark Side, we have cookies and empty Dark Zones.
Thing is, while I love the 60fps and precision aiming, I'm still fumbling when it comes to the keyboard.  I might just wind up using a dualshock 4 or 360 controller...thereby negating the accuracy of the mouse...oh well.

I'm hearing rumors that 1.3 for PS4 will drop 8/2 with the paid DLC.  Supposedly this was denied by the devs on the most recent SotG, but that's the only date I've heard so far.

honestly i own a xbox one and i hate it i have been a hard core ps guy since the first time i seen a ps one to the point i can tell you that twisted metal 2 was the fist ps one game i ever played.... i can't help but feel that microsoft is using these tactics to try and compensate for the fact that they charge you insane amounts of cash for the weaker of the  two systems and that most of the really good games are ps4 exclusives.... and seeing that ubisoft went along with this is just sad honestly all ps4 guys should boycott and games that are released by them.

I'm sure Microsoft have invested bunch of risky money to make this movement. They are definitely aware that PS4 is a tough competitor with X1 running behind. Alongside that, they also are aware that gamers are impatient. So there you go.

"Hey, if you want to play games earlier than your PS4 friends, get X1."

People grab X1 just to access even-more-broken release.
