So I've been using the same weapons for a long time and starting to feel like a spare part on the Incursion etc. when other people are melting enemies and it takes me a 50 round mag to take someone's armour. I have a 182 Vector doing 12.4kDMG and right now the Special Gear Vendor has a 204 Vector doing 11.3kDMG. Should I buy the 204? Is the DMG connected to my character stats, ie. will buying the 204 increase it's DMG because its in my posession?

I NEVER get weapon drops when playing so really hoping I can move forward a bit by buying the 204 (literally all my high end weapons have had to be bought).

I'd say it depends on the talents, keep whichever has either the better overall talents or the better talents for your play style.  If it's a blueprint, then go with the 204 cuz you can keep making them until you get one that fits and/or has better DMG/talents.

Buying the 204 won't increase your damage just by having it. As Dead said above, if it's got better talents, it may be worth a buy.

If it's taking you a ton of bullets to take out high ranked enemies, perhaps consider piling on some more enemy armor damage. It won't register as much as other stats in your DPS calculations, but it makes a big difference in actual damage output if you get enough of it in there.

Weapon drops are slated to increase on Tuesday with 1.2, don't worry too much about what you have now.
