GEAR SCORES

First off let me start off by saying having a nice gear score does give you that "sexy" look. But the amount of people that are caught up in what their score is is mind boggling. Especially people that are willing to change out a 182 item for a 191 or a 204 when the higher gear score items rent better. IMO unless you know how to move around , aim , gain advantages. Your gear score is absolutely irrelevant. Just one example by Ive cut up a 215 lvl 99 with a 190 gear score by simple out playing them. Moral of the story is this - don't get caught up in the score. Look at stats. Learn movement and learn to aim. And if anyone with a high GS wants to try little old me at 199GS, Try me :)

Totally agree, Gear Score is so broken right now anyways with the Incursions glitches that exist with so many people having the 240 gear pieces it is not in any way a good system of how to tell how well a player is geared out or their skill level.

Nope. It's an awful system right now and people are putting way to much thought in it. Thinking if there score isn't X amount then there gear isn't good or can't compete.  Which is absurd

i get better over all stats using my high end, 182 gear score gear than using my 191/214 Sentry's call gear set. i just use them for the talents you get when you have 4 of them. i do switch them around depending on the activity im doing. PVE or  PVP..So yes, i agree, im looking at over all stats more than im looking at gear score.

Same here dude. Actually my 163 chest piece is better then my 214.

gotta vouch for my clan mate here....the man destroys people (and groups of people), regardless of their GS.

That being said, the higher pieces CAN provide a significant advantage over the older ones, but people think they're magic. You STILL need to get the right piece with the right rolls for you for it to be effective. The bonuses given on sets are factored in as part of the GS raise on them. Choose carefully, and be prepared to grind for the same slots piece over and over again to get one that fits right.

^^^ he's a smart man

Yeah GS is overrated. I used a blue "First wave M1A" just because it had a decent damage roll and the balanced talent on it. Sure I had other DMR's and or sniper rifles with higher GS but why use a weapon theat deals less damage just for the GS right?

yeah, like sneak off and solo the last bomb run while your squad is explaining it to the new guy....
...and fail right behind the APC to screw up the whole incursion like they just told the new guy not to solo thinigs the moment you hit the ground? :15_yum: Nah just kidding...

But my experience so far is that more often then not solo/hero stuff things have a potential to go horribly wrong for the rest of the group.

This also goes for DPS. DPS is in essence pointless to measure build strength. So what if I can add a ton of accuracy to boost my DPS. How about those folks running around with 200k dps but with 30% armor, 30% elite dmg, and self heals (like me)? Doesn't reflect in their overall score at all. People can and should feel confident about sacrificing a DPS 'number' for smarter talents like self-preserved and the like. Rolling the BIS or meta of the week talents is another mans crap talents. Not much in to the screenshot e-peen contest. Like you said, gear score is no different. To each his/her own.

this reminds me of the one time, early when the incursion just released, i actually messed up one try on the incursion (i know shocking isnt it :) ) because of my screw up we wiped, . so, when we tried again, i was determined to make up for my mistake. when the first bomb showed up, i ran on got the bomb, went up the right side, tuned off the one turret, popped my survival link and placed the bomb..the whole time my team was yelling at me not to do it...(this is before we actually figured out later on that it is possible to do just that).  when i got back to the group ..they said  "ok, we forgive you, you just made up for it" lol.   I wouldn't have done the "solo/hero stuff" if i didn't screw up the previous attempt :)

Nah, he made it, we just didn't see him doing it and were quite surprised when the mission was over lol. We've got hard mode on absolute farm, and most of us have had at least one run with the bomb solo for a win, or a save when someone went down with the bomb and someone else just grabbed it and forced it in there.

We still use the trench strat, but lately, we've been getting bored in hard and just running out all over to do it faster.

The trench has gotten a little boring, we bring the fight to them now lol
