Morning all, and welcome to another day!

I'm curious, with the release of 1.5, coming soon, a few questions spring to mind:
- Will the download of 1.5 be free?
- Is it worth purchasing The Underground for $14.99 (US)?
- Or, is it simply better to purchase the season pass (never bought one before)?

Thanks in advance; Xbox One player

Patch 1.5 is free and drops at the same time for everyone.  Survival will come at the same time as patch 1.5 for PC and XBox players and is paid DLC (bought separately or included in the season pass).

Not going to comment too much on that one.  I like it but not sure I would purchase it for that price as a standalone DLC.  It can get repetitive.

The season pass will get you all three first year DLC.   Better value for money if you are likely to stick with the game.

Best advise is to check out the videos on YouTube and see if you are likely to enjoy the DLCs.  They are not to everyones taste.

 - Best value is the season pass at the moment. Looking it seems to be between $26-$35 USD depending where you look for a key.

Personally I really enjoy Underground and its a fast and fun way to gain decent gear. Since having it I've hardly visited the Incursions, its simply more fun and more efficient to run Hard & Challenging UG Missions as at least each time you go down its a different type of experience.

Have to say I'm more sceptical about Survival and its replay-ability however but we do have another DLC to come (Last Stand) so season pass still feels like good value.

In reviewing other websites, it appears quite a few people have conversations about the viability of a Season Pass. I'm still undecided, maybe after 1.5, I'll review it again.

There's probably a lot of people that are upset that the 3rd DLC (Last Stand) was supposed to be out like early December and now that's about when Survival will come out.   There's also concerns about the replay value of Survial after the shinny wears off.  Since there's no real info on Last Stand people are concerned that the DLC either won't be worth it or it will be too late to really enjoy, considering Wildlands drops probably within 4-6 weeks of Last Stand.

Also, Massive was slow to release any bonus content for buying the season pass (excluding DLC) aside from some cosmetic items and twice monthly supply drops.  Here's and old description of the season pass from before the game released:

If you decide to grab the season pass for The Division, it will also include some additional freebies for banking on the game nice and early. Those items include a sweet sawed-off shotgun, special outfits and weapons skins, as well as exclusive monthly events that will include things like content drops and in-game activities.
While the supply drops are available and there's occasionally some outfits and skins, the in-game activities never materialized and we're 8 months into the game's life cycle.
