The Division 2 clans, co-op detailed by Massive

Speaking with Stevivor at Massive’s studio in Malmo, Sweden, Game Director Mathias Karlson was keen to elaborate on one of the most requested features for The Division 2: clans.

“I’m personally very, very happy where we got with the clans in terms of how integrated it is into the game,” he said. “It’s literally in the menu, at your fingertips. You’re gonna be able to create, edit, manage, join a clan in just basically three clicks.”

But what will the clan system look like? According to Creative Director, Julian Gerighty, “it’ll have its own progression track, its own space in the base of operations, its own clan hall. Communication, very important, will be the theme with messaging and leaderboards that you can sort exclusively to see your clan from friends and members.

“Again, with three clicks, you can create or join a clan and organize it, play activities cooperatively. For the overall campaign experience, for the end-game activities, or for the Dark Zone"

I don't care much for clans ,create,or to join one. We never had any clans in The Division. I don't see any reason to have one now. In The Division 1 if want to join a team I was given an invite or sent out an invite. You accept or reject the invite. So far the clans in The Division 2 haven't even got off the ground very few players as far as I know haven't joined. In future if the Clans don't work out I hope Ubisoft removes them from the game. That just my opinion.

In PVE scheme of things, the normal grouping up works fine. I'm thinking people might use Clan teams for PVP. Then it will be handy to group with people you should be able to trust more.

Wish we had someone here to write articles for the forums... It could be promoted so well through our 20k+ followers twitter.

Whilst my case is a bit unusual, grouping with randoms can be a major PITA where I am located.  Most countries do not have English as their first language and as it is my only language, teaming up can be troublesome.

In TD2, running missions on hard or challenging has been a bit of a nightmare with randoms as they are all going off on their own (a few run and gunners just being cut down in seconds).  Trying to suggest alternative methods just doesn't work due to the language barrier.

We have a Clan started with forum members and others.  Makes it easier for me to schedule time with like minded people to go and do more difficult missions and to play in a more coordinated tactical way rather than using the shotgun approach of everyone going their own way and hoping it works out or we can keep the respawns going until the bad guys are all dead.

If people do not wish to join clans then that is also good.  Not sure what the point of removing them would be because someone does not want to join them.  I don't play the DZ but I have no intention to ask Massive to remove it.  Others do and like it and it has no reall impact on my play so why not leave it where it is...

I feel the same way and I hate The Dark Zone. I tried The Dark Zone in The Division 1 and hated it. It's not a easy place to get in and out of. Every time someone goes rogue inside The Dark Zone. The rogue agent shoots at you and tries to kill you & steal your stuff.  Which I don't think that's fair. After the rogue agent leaves The Dark Zone he/she can go back to being non-rogue agent. I don't think that's right/okay with me. I think The Division should put a bounty on all agents who go rogue after they leave the zone. If this was in real life all rogue agents would be arrested and kick out of The Division and sent to prison. That's how I feel about the whole thing. I myself don't feel like going into The Dark Zone unless I have too.

I am not sure if I like clans or not.  I am in one with RL friends and my son.  At present I see it as another means to socialize with people.  At clan lvl 4 not much is unlocked yet.  So for me the jury is out.

While I am not a DZ player, I am OK with it.  To say its not like real life is odd - this is a game.  None of it is like RL.

I been playing The Division 2 since the 12th march. I found this game kind  of mimics real life in a lot of ways. Over the years I moved from place to place and there's a lot  people who act the same as they do in the game. In real life there are bullies, punks, thugs, gangs, & idiots ect. Just like in the game  with NPCs and some players.....but in  a different way. But when it comes  to clans in The Division 2 I don't see it getting anywhere so far. Yes it looks like has gotten to the 4th level without any major changes or unlocked stuff.  I  don't see it ever getting off the ground in the months ahead. I tried joining a couple of the clans....but haven't heard thing since then. So far playing solo/freeroam and  level ed up to 28th level and  going on  the 29 th level very soon and still haven't heard a thing  from any  of the clan invites. I too aren't much of  a fan of the Dark Zone in both  of The Division 1 & 2. But it's there  and I'm dealing with it.
