So far I have found green and blue weapons and gear in random loot containers and from enemies that I have slayed. At any point will I start to see superior weapons dropped or is that something I have to craft? Right now I am level 20.

Since I started this new character I have saved all the money I make and have turned the all the resources into high end resources for later use but if I am not going to start seeing superior weapons and gear I might start crafting a few of them just top help out.

It depends on where you're playing, I see pretty much nothing but purple in the DZ nowadays but outside of that I definitely see more blues. It's all a matter of leveling. The higher the level, the better the gear

doing the mission on hard mode will give you better drops, as for purple drops, you will be seeing a lot more of those when you hit level 30 and do the dailies (2 hard missions and one challenging mission) but you are doing the right thing of turning everything you dont want or need into scrap for high end materials

Makes sense in the DZ. Lately I have noticed the closer I got to 20 the more blue items and less green. What level did you start seeing the superior items?

Still very curious if I will start seeing them outside the DZ though.

Its been so hard. I keep window shopping. Like a little kid. Ill see that toy I really, really want and I look in my wallet and see the money and......then I realize I need to stick to the plan. I did craft a superior backpack though. I had the resources and it was a HUGE upgrade. So I did it lol.

yeah, i did the same thing, i bought a few good pieces. but when you are ready to craft those high end blueprints at level 30, you are going to need a ton of material. right now,  i pick up everything, green, blues, purples, i scrap about 99% of everything i pick up. i look at the stuff closely to see if i could use them or if they are better than what i have, if not, in the scrap heap it goes :)

Same here. I had another character. I spent everything. Sold everything. Didn't look towards the end game. Always kept a backup option for all gear. Now I do the same. Scrap it all. I only keep one for each gear item. Might change that up once I start getting some superiors but now its all about the resources.

As above really, I've been keeping my backpack fairly empty - scrapping anything I've not been using. Up-crafting the lot to HE parts. You move through lvls so quickly there is very little point in laying out resources and cash for gear lower than lvl 30.

Don't waste your time my man. Just keep grinding and leveling up. Around 26 I seem to remember a significant increase in purple items. You will also start to notice your vendors will all carry one purple item as well as soon as you hit (again 95% sure its lvl 26). So ya crafting is useless until you hit end game. You will continue to find very easily better and better items as you just level up and play. Now, I know the word on the net is deconstruct all your gear. I say the opposite. I didn't start deconstructing till level 30 and I had PLENTY of stuff to craft with and have had no issues crafting what so ever now that I am in the end game. You can buy a really great high end light machine gun (Pakhan) right from your BO vendor soon as you hit level 30. Its about 450,000...so start saving.
