Hi,

I am having a very big problem. I have installed the division on my laptop, which happens to have a better VGA (GTX 1060) than my desktop computer to enjoy better graphics, unfortunately I am experiencing some input problems which make the game unplayable. Basically, while I am moving with WASD, more often than not my character keeps on moving/running well after I stopped pressind W, or, alternatively he refuses to enter cover because it is still busy running.

Note that this happens ONLY on my notebook and not on my two desktop computers. Also, I am not using any kind of external input aside from a mouse and I already disabled the trackpad.

For reference this is my notebook:

MSI GP62MVR 6RF(Leopard Pro)-292IT Gaming Portatile, 15.6" FHD, Intel Core i5-6300HQ, RAM 8GB DDR IV, HDD 1TB e 128GB SSD, nVidia GeForce GTX 1060/3GB

Hey MAFIA,

Try the following:

Using compressed air to blown any debris out from under the keys on your keyboard.

Try an external USB keyboard.

Reset your key mapping in-game. Go to settings, and Key Mapping. Press the "R" key to reset the mapping to defaults.

Try those, and report back your results.

Also, does this happen in any other games? Or just The Division?

- The laptop's brand new, I doubt dust's the culprit

- Tried an external kbd to no avail

- Resetting key mapping didn't help as well.

Is this some kind of common issue with notebooks? It happens with the division only.

Hey MAFIA,

My initial thought would be insufficient power to the keyboard. However, like you said, it is a new laptop. And it's built in. So I don't think there would be a way to adjust that, unlike with an external USB one. Laptops always seem to have way more issues running games then desktops do. I've heard a lot of gaming horror stories from both guys I know, and don't know about laptops. Enough of them to decide I will never get one.

I would say verify your game cache, reinstall the game, update drivers and firmware. If it's no bueno, next stop for me would be Ubisoft or MSI support. Really sorry, but laptops is really not my realm. I've only ever been desktop support. I'll look around on the web, and see if anybody has solutions for laptops.

If there is anybody who has more experience with laptops, please hop in and help out here.
