Strategies to protect against rogue agents in extraction zones ?.

After playing for a bit in DZ5, the two of us killed a boss and his minions and headed to an extraction zone.  When we arrived and called for extraction, another 3 player team joined us and we all fought off the attacking AI.

Next thing we know, the three other players shoot us in the back, kill us and take the loot for the extraction for themselves.

I would imagine this is not so uncommon so the question is... what strategies have you formed to deal with situations like this, apart from not extracting with other players around ?.

Our current solution is to wait until the heli is almost there and activate the protection and damage talents, drop my turret and my partners smart bomb before actually extracting to help provide some protection against anyone coming up last minute to steal our sweet, sweet loot.

Another would be good in a 4 person team with two at the extraction and two providing overwatch from a distance, swapping as needed.

Any others anyone else has ?.

Take a bigger team, one person extracts the other three clear the area of mobs AND makes sure area is clear or players in the area know they are being covered, take turns swapping over from cover squad to extraction. Also don't extract immediately or in the same area as you start from. Try to find a more remote extraction area with more defensible entry points (pretty sure i've seen them).

I think the key to safe extractions aren't hidden, distance based defensive measures but very obvious strong arm tactics. Letting other players know this is OUR EXTRACTION, BACK OFF NOW!

You could always just go to another extraction if the one on your grind route seems risky, but just always stay watchful. I would've let them kill the AI by themselves then extracted at the same time as them to make sure there were no opportunities for them to shoot me in the back. You can also pop Survivor Link while extracting, works every time.

When I'm in the DZ solo and there are players going rogue, I'll call in an extraction let's say, kitty-corner of the gas station and then immediately book it to the one bottom left, just outside that entrance and extract there.

if people show up there, I'll go into the subway, take it north a little bit and extract on the rooftop parking garage

be mobile and be flexible

I couldn't agree with this more, I usually call it in by the gas station then book it to the DZ01W extract. If I'm playing with two we split up and both call one in at the two bottom most extracts, whoever has the more dangerous extract just runs to the other person, it's worked every time so far

1) If you see agents in the extraction area that are not carrying loot themselves, that is a clear giveaway of their intentions. Either take them out first or go to another extraction.

2) Have one team member ready to hit Survivor Link the moment shots are fired. Worst case, the damage mitigation buff plus speed boost gives you and your team plenty of opportunity to remove yourselves from the area. Best case, you can take out the other agents and make them pay for deciding to attack.

3) Don't forget the pulse. I think a lot of players underestimate the pulse. If you are going to fight, use it. Mine right now is giving my team something like +35% critical hit chance and +60% critical hit damage, and I am in no way maxed out on skill. I have not done the math on it, but considering its longer duration, I would argue that it can actually be a much more powerful damage buff than Tactical Link.

i usually just hit health buff, to give me a little extra health, and use tactical link right when the rope drops...gives me more than enough time to get my loot on the rope...after that if they kill me, no big deal, at least i get my loot out. then i re-spawn and hunt them down like the dogs they are :)

Run with a team if possible. Hold high ground. Watch all entry and exit points and have an escape route if needed. Hold your flanks and dont bunch so they cant wipe everyone out right away but not so spread they can pick each off one at a time. Just always be ready and when you go to hook up have someone watching. As far as them turning on you again have a buddy step back and watch... Trust no one and be ready for the shot in the back so keep high ground and them in front of you as much as possible.

Lots of great tips here.

I must admit I did not notice if they had the yellow dz canisters.  The AI attacked around the time they arrived so was busy and never thought to double check.  First time getting shot in the back by traitorous dogs with no honor   left us a little shocked and so didn't even remember survivor link at the time.

Pulse buff is also a good point.  We use it a lot just moving around so maybe looking at buffing it up a bit would also be good.

There are only two of us at the moment.  Asian timezone (GMT +7) plus the fact we are level 29/29 and 27/28 makes it hard to find other players.  We are currently staying below lvl 30 to avoid all the people in the lvl 30 bracket who have been farming for a while and who are just hacking or being a P.I.T.A. for giggles.  Today's patch will hopefully thin the herd at lvl 30.

We are currently not extracting at the same point as we get the loot.  We are usually moving to one of the rooftop extraction points instead.  Takes a bit more effort and time for people to get up there and we also usually wait for another extraction to start elsewhere before we start ours.

As a solo player the biggest key for me has been patience. Call in an extraction then sit back and asses the situation. If I'm not positive I can extract my gear and get out alive I either wait and try to extract again or head to another extraction zone.

Patience has also been the hardest thing for me to learn. I want to get my stuff out of there and move on. As a solo player you just don't get that luxury unfortunately.

On a side note....I had some fun with a group of 4 rogues. I noticed them off in the distance so I called for an extraction. Found a spot I could watch and hid. They ran back. Couldn't find anything and left. I did this three times. They seemed to be very, very frustrated. No way I could engage. 1 vs 4 just wasn't going to happen. But I feel good I wasted their time for awhile lol

When I'm going solo I usually go roof top as it's easier, I call the heli from the lowest part possible and head down the rope. Hide in the bottom garage once the heli is close. I sprint up drop my specialties throw the loot on and either fight or bail. Eh, works for me!!

I usually just call in the chopper and if anyone tries to fk with me I drop that mf with my super 90. I talk mad shit too with proxy chat. Basically just wave your dk like its massive and generally people don't mess with you.
