Still run SMG's?

Any of you still running SMG's since the nerf? I still have my 204 Vector because it has some great talents but I was rolling Underground with someone and he was asking me why I still use it.

I'm using my Aug as secondary, but I've picked up three Vectors (all 229s) and a PP-19 today that I want to look at.

Haven't found any to replace my Vector and AUG. So now I'm back using MK16 AR and the new AR that's being called OP and going to get nerfed (ffs Massive)

I back up my 204 LVOA or 204 M60 with my 204 AUG.  It took a 17k DPS hit from the nerf, but I was able to recal responsive to self-preserved (now has  self-preserved/stable/deadly) so it's defnitely still viable.  And between lone star and othe gear I have like +190 ammo so I rarely run out of ammo with over 1700 rounds.

I have played with some SMGs in the past like the MP7 (loved it), MP5-ST (Was ok), AUG (very brief usage) and now the PP-19 (like it a lot) but SMGs are not my go to gun of choice.

My weapon order tends to be ;

  • Marksman (M1A currently) <-- I need to get a decent 226 Drag / M1A as mine is still 182.
  • G36 enhanced.
  • L86 LMG - Lowish damage but 60 mag and can spam fire / explosive ammo if needed. <-- Gutted as I just sold this by mistake inc all the gold mods on it.
  • PP-19
  • SASG shotgun.
Saying that, last night I found the SASG to be more effective close range than the PP-19 so I may swap those around.

If the change to allow ballistic shields with smgs comes in then it may make them a bit more popular again.

Since they didn't retroactively change our pre 1.3 weapons, I'm still running with my 204 Aug b/c it still has 24% crit chance, along with some talents that suit my style.

I scrapped all of my SMGs except for my 204 MP7 with deadly, responsive, and brutal. It also has a 24% crit chance. I saved that for when our group decides to do some PVP.

Otherwise I have gone to my new 229 GS MP5 with destructive, brutal, and deadly for PVE now. With my skill power around 25k and using a pulse it still chews through NPCs due to the crit dmg boost at 44%.

Same here, that 25% crit chance is still very good for PvP and PvE. I use my newer aug that has brutal, deadly and responsive but with crit dmg bonus for PvE aslong as I'm running with someone that has max crit on their pulse.

I wouldn't hold your breath, the FrontLine gear set has been pulled indefinitely.  This is another case of Ubi not being able to balance it with PvP so they just won't release it.  I guess 4 players rolling the DZ with shields and SMGs would be a little OP.

Yeah, I think I am going to swap my 229 PP-19 back out for my 204 First Wave Vector... I like the talents a lot more and it still seems to do more damage even though its DPS is less.
