Stats over 2400

After a bit more research yesterday, and understanding the different icons and such in Equipped Gear, Weapons, Abilities (Skills and Talents), I'm finally starting to understand how it all connects now.

I'm at a gear score of 202, with Firearms, Stamina and Electronic all over 2400.
Primary weapon is a Black Market RPK-74 E and secondary is a PP-19.

Considering I've been playing this game for a while, I can't believe it took up to yesterday, for me to notice that the various mods had stats that affected Firearms, Stamina, Tech. Yeah, a bit slow, I know.

What I don't understand is why when viewing certain items and it shows say, Firearms 200+, the difference value in the Firearms section (top left), doesn't compute to that value.  Any ideas?

Not completely sure what you are looking at. But, I find the way the way show the difference between slotted mods and a mod you're looking at a bit perplexing sometimes. So, I find it easier to unslot my mod and then review them.

Also, I find with some of the performance mods, when you already have two slotted, it doesn't fully show the comparison on the screen and there is no scroll down option... so, once again, I unslot my mods so I can see....

This is an old image I found online, to help better explain. The Corrections Masks, shows Stamina +14. However, if you look at Stamina, it shows a green increase of 72, i.e up from 70.

Surely from 70-72, is not 14. Even the health figure seems off, too, no?

I hope this helps explain my question a little.

In the pic above, the Corrections mask only granted a +2 because that was the NET bonus you would receive.  My guess is that the Guard mask that's equipped offers +12 to stamina.  When you remove that mask (-12 stamina) and equip the Corrections mask (+14 stamina), you net an increase of +2 for stamina.

This can be confirmed by looking at the stack of green chevrons (^) by the stamina (middle) icon.  Only one of them is lit because the Corrections mask offers a slight (relative) bonus to stamina. You can see that the same mask offers a great (relative) increase to armor (+9 net), so all 3 chevrons are lit.  This same concept can be applied to items that decrease a stat, the difference being that there will be a stack of red chalices (v).

Thanks for the explanation. So, one really has to know maths to play this game ;)

Not really, you just have to know what you want to do with your toon.  As you get to max gear score and start looking for gear pieces, it's going to be rare that you'll find something that's increases across the board or even.  You might find a piece that gives you +56 net to electronics and a -42 net in firearms, but if you are building to electronics this might be a good piece.  However, to complicate my example more, you have to watch that loss to firearms to make sure that it doesn't deactivate a weapon talent.

TL:DR version - known what you want to do with your toon and equip gear that works towards that.

Understood, thanks for the tips...
